I've been wondering, what are those low-slung buildings behind Marshall's?

There is heavy equipment on site, and actively working, behind the strip with Giant Tiger in it. Anyone have any info on what's happening?

And to answer Keith's question from last summer, the building behind Marshall's is a multi-tenant warehouse that has 3-4 tenants in it so far.

Cineplex Theatres Bayer Lake 18 & IMAX

Cineplex will be showing The Odyssey in 70mm film at the Bayers Lake IMAX this July.

https://www.imax.com/en/ca/movie/the-odyssey

https://www.odysseymovie.com/explore-formats/

This will utilize the full screen (measures in at 72 feet wide by 59 feet tall at a 1.43:1 aspect ratio) at 18k resolution equivalent.

Explore formats: https://www.odysseymovie.com/explore-formats/

They will use the IMAX’s 15/70mm 3D SR (Small Rotor). The 15/70mm SR IMAX projector is still in the Halifax IMAX theatre but the last time they flew a projectionist in to show a 70mm movie was The Dark Knight Rises in 2012 when it was still owned by Empire Theatres.

Here is a picture of the IMAX Digital Xenon projectors (left) and the true IMAX 15/70mm SR (right) taken from inside the Halifax Cineplex Scotiabank IMAX theatre.

It's right on Cineplex's website.

It's also on IMAX's website:

https://www.imax.com/en/ca/movie/the-odyssey

Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand-new IMAX film technology. The film brings Homer's foundational saga to IMAX for the first time and opens everywhere on July 17, 2026.

For a current list of theatres playing The Odyssey in IMAX 70mm Film, see below or visit our news article https://www.imax.com/en/ca/news/the-odyssey-in-imax-70mm-film.

The Odyssey is shot entirely with IMAX Film Cameras and is part of the Filmed For IMAX® program.
