On an optimistic note, I wonder if the crown lighting will at least help this one some.
This is pretty much how 1 hotels are, if you've ever been to any of the others lol. They're actually quite nice even though they do look a little busy with the finishes. The faux beams going across the ceiling in the rooms are a bit silly though.

I like the way the interior looks, but then I stayed in quite a few lodges in my day.

It is a lot more warm & inviting than the sterile modern minimalist lobby at the new Albert Hotel in Fredericksburg….

Was out walking around and noticed what I thought was some sort of reflection. Turns out it’s residue from the mechanical level (last floor of the office portion). Hard to tell but it's on both the SW/W facing sides of the building.

208 Nueces-6G and now Waterline experiencing this issue. Has to be a side effect of cost cutting, as this hasn't been an issue for other towers in the past.

This is likely something to do with pressurizing the sprinkler system on all these buildings, thus creating rust water in the sprinkler riser room on the mechanical floor. I believe the other buildings were cleaned and it never happened again.

Rust: Testing the standpipe fire protection system

The Statesman also had pictures of the rust, and is why I came to this thread today:

https://www.statesman.com/news/article/waterline-building-austin-stain-photos-22270003.php

"Developers with Lincoln Property Co. said the stains resulted from testing the building’s standpipe fire protection system. According to the company, dirt and grime that accumulated during construction washed down parts of the facade during the testing process and are expected to be cleaned."

One might think these big $$$$ builders would’ve learned something from the recent 6x Guadalupe experience with the exact same problem……and prepared for it.
