Alberni is short walking distance from all the best hotels, it won't feel any effect from this.

I also wonder if it will shift the concepts of the Alberni locations. Oakridge has the large format stores, could be an opportunity for the more exclusive boutiques on Alberni, prominently located downtown near the luxury hotels.

They hire a security guard to keep people away from the piano, but won't hire a piano player…

I guess that's the whole point of a player piano it doesn't require someone to play it. Not sure if you are talking about the other Fazioli that was in the mall corridor that had people playing at the grand opening.

Yes, I went by the Fazioli on opening day and there was nobody playing it! I do remember a player piano at the old Oakridge too…

A friend of mine said that there was a massive line up at Samurai Sushi (now Kamura Sushi?) across Cambie from Oakridge - spin-off traffic...

Are the bicycle silos open?

Are the bicycle-only parking garages open at Oakridge Park? Alternatively at Senakw? I'm interested in what was actually delivered compared to what Westbank promised

When I asked about parking a bike at Oakridge they told me the only option was he rack at top of the parkade for the Medical Offices (which as been there for years). A few days later they put up a rack near the skytrain station. It was the worse type - one that only allows the front wheel to be locked. And it wasn't even bolted to the ground.

Good point. I assumed it was for the mall users. But found an online comment from HUB that automated bike parking was for residents. Vistors were supposed to get an dedicated bike ramp to P1.

As recently as two months ago Oakridge said that the bike silos were on the way: https://www.facebook.com/reel/2129787267564570
