It's as if the BC Conservatives don't really want to win elections. Seriously?

Straight out of the American playbook - half the country's convinced that Obamacare is bad even if they like the Affordable Care Act.

That said, it was pretty crap messaging on the province's part, who could've easily gone with Anti-Bullying and Anti-Discrimination (ABAD?) and made the program 90% less targetable.

made huge on this

really happy to see Findlay win, gives me hope for the future here, she has some outstanding ideas and she has the will and the intelligence to get a lot of positive things done for this province if given the chance

She attacked her opponent for having the wrong-coloured wife and kids, and almost got kicked out of the race altogether for breaking election laws in '25. She is not a serious leader.

bs on the last as that was unfounded slander, and she simply had a legitimate concern of a conflict of interest due to ties to organizations involved in Indigenous governance and land claims. The possibility should be open for discussion in the same way other family-related conflicts are discussed in politics.

She is the best leader going forward for our province, and it isn't even close.

Disagree, someone (anyone) who isn't beyond retirement age would be better... I thought we learned that having geriatrics running the government isn't a good idea?

age is irrelevant in what she brings to the table and I strongly believe the province will be in a much better place after 4 years of her guidance

Eby is young and look at the disaster he has been

Again, disagree that age is irrelevant, it's a job that requires someone who can make prudent decisions about the future quickly. We need someone sharp and not in mental decline. She'll be in her late seventies as Premier if she forms government after the next election.

Care to elaborate on what she brings to the table? This seems like an obvious miss over Caroline Elliott.

Speaking of nuts running crazy right wing parties in BC:

Rainbow crosswalk in Surrey vandalized in what advocates call 'act of hate'
Surrey police are investigating
CBC News · Posted: Jun 01, 2026

....Amrit Birring posted the video showing him and two other men spray-painting the crosswalk.

Birring is the leader of the Freedom Party of B.C. He has run for various political positions in Surrey, including for MLA in the Surrey-Newton riding in 2024. He received 371 votes, representing 2.4 per cent of the vote, in that election.

The Freedom Party, according to its website, has a platform to stop SOGI 123, provincial education resources on sexual orientation and gender identity...

His wife is a part time receptionist for a band, and he's voted against the FN on several issues. Where have I heard this one before? Oh yeah: Donald Trump says judge in university court case biased by 'Mexican heritage'

Nope, she's just another underqualified Karen.

My worry is about how we tend to vote people out rather than in. Many people don't pay that much attention and likely won't realize just how socially conservative and conspiratorial the BC Conservatives have become.

BC Hydro quietly seeks gas contracts as power shortage looms
BC Hydro seeks to extend contracts with two major natural gas plants—a proposal that would undermine regulations requiring B.C. to build a grid free of fossil fuels by 2030

Faced with an electricity shortfall, B.C. Hydro is seeking to extend contracts with two major natural gas plants, a policy reversal that challenges one of the province’s core climate goals.

In a May 28 submission to the B.C. Utilities Commission, the utility seeks approval to pursue new agreements with Island Generation, a gas power plant at an old mill in Campbell River; and McMahon Cogeneration, a gas-fired facility in Taylor in northeastern B.C.

B.C. Hydro chief regulatory officer Chris Sandve said in the submission that electricity demand is expected to skyrocket with the rise of data centres, electric vehicles, economic growth and large industrial customers like mines and gas export terminals....
