Sacramento formally announces pursuit to secure MLB expansion team

Sacramento formally announces pursuit to secure MLB expansion team

If Sacramento secures an MLB expansion team, a projected 35,000- to 40,000-seat ballpark would be built on the West Sacramento site of Sutter Health Park.

Interesting. It would have to be a retractable roof stadium, for those hot mid-late summer games where it can reach in the triple digits easily in the Central Valley. Even night games, it will linger in the 90s by first pitch, before dropping down to 70s early morning.

Well, it couldn't be worse than Phoenix. Seems like they should have really tried to get the A's.

^It's actually worse in some ways than Phoenix (I've lived in both as an adult). The humidity in the summer isn't unbearable, but sitting in a ballpark facing the wrong direction from the Delta Breeze won't do it. And you cannot turn the ballpark around or everyone will roast in 104 degree temps. Phoenix is much drier.
