I wouldn't exactly say that the roads are out of scale honestly, so agreed there. Providing a decent level of parking is also just good business policy. That doesn't mean it has to look like hot garbage, but the reality of Winnipeg is that most people want to drive, and there isn't really good enough (or attractive enough) transit for people to ride. True rapid transit just will never exist at this point because we don't have the stones to actually do it, so having a way to get cars in and out of the Forks will always be a going concern, unless something significant changes.
It could be a pretty solid business decision for any of the vacant lots on main street around there to add parking structures as part of development, I feel like they could do pretty well. The little lot behind Inn at the Forks could also be a good location for another on-site structure...
