I don't remember if this has been discussed yet, but on Facebook they confirmed that steel beams will be installed in two other places on the line.

Yeah I guess where Fraser Highway turns at 138th there will be one last centre alignment pier then a steel beam?

And the second location is west of the Serpentine River (maybe because of the weight issues previously discussed)

Hi Bob - great question! Steel beams will be installed at 2 additional locations: over the Serpentine River west of Highway 15, and for the guideway connection to the existing Expo Line near Fraser Highway and 138 Street.

I noticed in one of the environmental studies it mentioned 5 steel girder sections from 2023 assuming the Highway 15 is counted as 2..

If my math is correct the four gantry launchers have completed just over 5km of guideway in total (or around 1/3 of the guideway length). Much of the progress in the last several weeks is in Green Timbers where the Surrey Sprinter has sprinted from 148 St (in late March) to just shy of 144 St today (or about a span every 2 days).

I should do an update pretty soon. It wasn't that long ago when I did one and gantry was just entering Green timbers at 148th street. That section might be the fastest one to progress.

There are 51 spans left to go for Fleetwood Flyer to reach 152 Street station.

There are 51 spans left for the Fleetwood Flyer to reach 152 Street Station.
And only 26 spans left for the Surrey Sprinter to reach Green Timbers Station!
It looks like the Surrey Sprinter will be the first to finish—as expected, since it has the fewest sections (900)—and by a significant margin!

Yes it will go all the way. I think it might be steel beam sections for at least the first connection from the existing guideway over Fraser Highway.

I estimate there will be 10-12 spans between Green Timbers station and King George Station. That still puts Surrey sprinter to finish first. Someone said before that Surrey sprinter completed one span in 2 days. This should be getting to green timbers station sometime in July. Although I’m not sure how long it will take to complete those 8 extra wide crossheads.
