9C and sunny in Moncton at 10 AM, going up to 17C this afternoon.

Week ahead is mostly pleasant, Temperatures will mostly be above 20C, topping out at 25C on Sunday.

Has the worm turned???

Haha yeah I figured by then we would turn the corner. Thursday night and Friday morning will be cool, but it looks to be really nice after that.

Monday and Tuesday will be our first taste of summer heat, highs of 28 both days and low dewpoints. More inland parts of Southern Ontario will be over 30.

Just when you thought you've hit rock bottom, a day like today proves you wrong.

10C today and rainy. Added element of darkness. Like I said, we are reaching apocalyptic levels.

Low was 8C and was achieved at 3PM.

The warmspot was Bull Springs, AB at 30.9C.

Warmest low yesterday was Sanheads, BC at 14.3C

This is an example of the apocalypse...

Nicko is not exaggerating; it truly has been the most consistently cold period of weather that I can recall. My buddy back in Sudbury says even his kindergarten-age kids were upset the last time it snowed.

The rains have hit BC. I drove from Vancouver to Kelowna yesterday, and it rained the entire way. There was no break. No short reprieve. It was raining for 396km.

We need it, but I can't remember a time when it rained nonstop for the whole drive between the two cities.

We got 14.9mm of rain in Kelowna yesterday, our biggest rain event since July 22 last summer.

Major cool down for May long here, Saturday we are flirting with highs of 12c or possibly lower and chance of rain Friday/Saturday. Cant wait.

All set for the Memorial Cup???

I wish I was going. The Moncton Wildcats are tied with Chicoutimi in the QMJHL finals at two wins apiece. If the Cats win, it would be their second consecutive trip to the Memorial Cup. That's a pretty rare thing.

Up until now, Toronto's bad spring was just kind of a minor nuisance to me, but today I stepped out of the house and was actually disgusted by it.

At noon, it was 9, felt like 6, and the sky was just this sheet of clouds with wind blowing in violently from the north. I could see my breath. I actually walked half a block before turning back to get the warmest jacket I still had left after packing all my winter clothing in storage. Honestly, if not for the temperature, this could have been a day in any month between October and April. Like, if it were 0, instead of the coldest 9C imaginable, I'd believe it. The layers of thick clouds blocked any idea of where the sun might be coming from, and this was at noon on a day 38 days from the solstice. The sun is supposedly as high as it will be on July 29 and it couldn't break through the wintry cloud cover.

Drove by today and they are setting up event tents out front of the arena (Propsera Place being the building on the left in my screenshot) and Memorial cup banners all through out the downtown core. Shaping up to be a festive event.

Looking forward to attending a few games, hopefully seeing your Wildcats in action!

13C and cloudy. Some light rain on and off. I really have no words. The last 8 months have been the most extreme weather event anywhere on earth. Probably more rare than June 2021 or March 2012 simply the because the length blows away the other events. This is extraterrestrial weather, doesn't even feel such thing would even be possible.

Low of 8C this morning. Dark, cloudy and some rain.

The warmspot was Emerson and Carman, MB at 27.4C.

Warmest low yesterday was Ashcroft, BC at 15.4C.

A mix of sun and cloud with some light rain developing in the later evening. It's been a month since we had any significant rain.
AI says "April received under 40% of normal rainfall, and the first half of May has seen virtually 0.0 mm of measurable rain."

Thursday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 16 C, the low was 12 C.

Moncton hosted the Memorial Cup back in 2006 (20 years ago). It was my first year as a season's ticket holder (it gave you first dibs for Memorial Cup tickets). It was a great atmosphere and excellent hockey. You should definitely go to some games.

10C and cloudy in Moncton at 8 AM, with temperatures remaining steady all day. Rain later.

Beautiful May long weekend however - wall to wall sunshine and temperatures up to 26C.

Game five tonight. Series tied 2-2. Whoever wins tonight probably goes to the Memorial Cup. I have my jersey and cowbell ready.

You can step away from the window edge. I'm in Ottawa and the weather is very similar to Montreal. Honestly, this last 8 months haven't been that bad. Almost no ice storms, and no super cold extreme weather events.

"Extreme weather event' is an exaggeration. There are people in the world who are faced with drought, flooding, hurricanes, etc and our last 8 months are inconsequential in comparison.

Maybe the last 8 months would have been more 'normal' if it wasnt' for climate change much of which is caused by humanity.
