My moneys on The Hive phase 2. Which is very exciting! More office/retail space is always a good sign and it’s not designed by Blue Green which is a huge bonus!

I forgot all about the Hive. I was thinking Innova phase 2, but my monies on the Hive now that you mentioned it. That first phase has been fully leased for years now, they gotta be ready to get going on the next building by now.

Look like it finally happening. If you have anything to list or rent now would be the time. Good boost to the recent projects around Kamloops.

I saw the relocation notice a while back, but they actually put it to a vote, and those people chose Kamloops to relocate too.

Kamloops council backs tax breaks to spur airport development

Kamloops council has signalled strong support for a tax incentive program aimed at jumpstarting development at the Kamloops Airport, settling on key details that could shape how and what gets built on the largely underdeveloped site.

After more than an hour of discussion, councillors agreed the city should move forward with a revitalization tax exemption bylaw and gave clear direction on how it should be structured—decisions that will now guide staff in drafting the final policy.

At the heart of the plan is a 10-year, 100% property tax exemption on the increased value of new developments, a model already used elsewhere in the city. Council backed that approach as a way to provide certainty for developers and remain competitive with other jurisdictions trying to attract investment.

But councilors also tightened the rules around who qualifies.

* But wait ... I thought there was a water park being built out there.... MEMBER ??? The Forge wasn't it with their slick ( cough ) AI pic?

Ah finally some soviet style architecture to spice things up!....

This is what they're marketing the mayors west vic dealership with. Too bad Blue Green couldn't design a building that looks half as good as this one.

Bluegreen for the win. Devon Square 476 Victoria Street. Mass timber office building. 50% leased or sold already. Seems like its a go.

Confirmation that The Brick is relocating from their Valleyview location to the former Bed, Bath and Beyond with a planned opening in September. New tenants will be a 10-court Pickleball center, or "Pickleplex"

https://www.castanetkamloops.net/news/Ka...on-to-be-former-Kamloops-furniture-store

What blows my mind is they will not be using the entire building and will be dividing it. The rent can't be that awful, can it?

Edited: Also it sounds like the downtown 7-11 got fed up with the Local Wildlife and will be closing before the end of the month. This means you now gotta drive way out to the North Shore or up into Sa-Hali.

I guess BC Hydro is going to be consolidating and relocating from their old depot next to The Home Depot.

BC Hydro confirmed as buyer of $22M anchor property in new Kamloops industrial park

So, as MIPS said, I guess its not going to be AMAZON moving in there.
Cant see there being many jobs added by this relocation, just further empty buildings now in Aberdeen.

Wow, they really overhyped that deal. Who cares about a new BC Hydro service yard? Yippie!

Nice pic btw Tom!

Got this one of the new Pineview school. Pretty sweet location for kids to learn in. Noticed a random condo building in the top left corner getting built in Aberdeen. So close to joining the 2 neighbourhoods. The road stops just past the school. The retaining wall budget for this build must have been insane!

I live up in Pineview, the road does connect all the way to Aberdeen but as it stands its just a gravel road. Don't think they'll be paving it though, just an emergency egress road. Shame
