Yeah, the design is far from stellar but it's never been a particularly handsome edifice according to every rendering I've seen, going all the way back to years ago when it was first proposed.

Otherwise, really, hey, it's a parking lot gone and more people in the area.

It is a far cry from this initial "vision" render for what could be at that corner.

^ I love that 'vision', it's very European.

Osborne could use half a dozen of these high-rises.

Event the original vision is a bit off. That makes it look very sterile as well, albeit more pleasing to the eye.

The shape of the building they are building currently seems appropriate (even if it could use more height overall).

For me the problem is the choice of exterior finishes and value engineering the end product to wihtin an inch of its life.

I would imagine if they pushed this one through, it would generate similar developments around it. Would love to see that parking lot where burger King is redeveloped.

Nobody who can afford a fancy luxury condo wants to live on an island surrounded by six lanes of traffic in every direction. If they really want to develop that area they need to find a way to reconfigure confusion corner and make the whole thing more pedestrian-friendly.

How many years has this site been under construction, and how many before it's complete?

The World Class architectural splendor & refinement that is embodied in this elegant structure with its delicate, gentle edges & alluring finishes & colourful detailing will surely stand the test of time and define this entire area. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be more specific, the city should do what Edmonton did when they made the roundabout at 118 Ave and 101 Street NW.

I don't know where that's supposed to be but it's definitely not the 118/101 area in Edmonton.

The irony that we have this, Sutton, and other private, for-profit developments taking years and years to build lol. They almost make government look fast and efficient.

I also get a good laugh about how conservative folks used to make fun of commie blocks - now all the private-sector development looks like commie blocks, but built with worse materials and renting for $2500/month.

I never said it was. I just do not understand why you would point that out to someone who has actually lived in Edmonton for a number of years.

I posted a random pic of a roundabout, in regards to a possible traffic solution to Confusion Corner.
