NEWARK | 56 Park Place | 285 FT | 27 FLOORS

Quote:
NEWARK --If developer Joe Sardar has his way, a 26-story hotel will rise above the Military Park Commons Historic District.

The new hotel would be three doors down from the city's best-known hotel, the Robert Treat, and around the corner from a new TRYP by Wyndham hotel being redeveloped at the old St. Francis Hotel.

The hotel proposed by Sardar would be the latest development project at Military Park, joining the glass Prudential Financial tower across Broad Street and One Theater Square, a 22-story apartment tower at the eastern end of Park Place.

Another skinny mess. Not a big fan of these skinny towers.

I rather skinny than buying up and demolishing half the block for a campus-type environment. It adds much needed density, without ruining the character of the neighborhood at the street.

Great news. Anything over 20 floors is big news for Newark.

Do you hear what I'm hearing?

" CHOO CHOOO.... CHOO CHOOO .... CHOO CHOOO ...

Thats the gentrification train.

And it doesn't stop for anybody in its path to revitalize NJ.

The project was denied by Newark's City Planning Board for being 'too slim'.
