Another possible shave, I hope Griffin pulls out at this point and the site is developed later down the line by someone else.

The height cut could be a blessing in disguise, with potentially 5 floors shaved it might wind up in the low 1,300's and be visually shorter than its neighbors, I'm more worried about a plateau effect than actual height.

Where are you getting a height cut from, Zap?

It might be outdated but the post above yours shows 61 floors with occupied height at 59.

There's been no height change as of yet, the 62 floors in the title is counting the roof level (which DOB doesn't count as a floor). The mentioning of 61 stories still aligns with the latest DOB documents with the 1413' figure.

Thanks for setting this straight!

Given the massive demand for space in Manhattan and on Park Avenue, in particular, if anything, they’d make it taller.

Perhaps, but at least according to NYYimby the 1,413' version has a floor count of 64 or 66 with cutaways that show just that.

If I'm wrong sorry for the false alarm.

The 66 figure count in the cutaway diagram is inclusive of the 4 bulkhead "floors" and roof level that don't count towards actual floor count, leaving you with the 61 countable floors.

No. But they are on course to take (own) the entire building. They are under contract with Vornado and Rudin (the developers).

Right, those aren't full floors in the upper crown.

Another look at the wind test model...

Standard box version (not a proposal)...

Is this the 1,413 foot version? It looks incredible.

^ Looks like the 1,400+ version.

Not sure there's anything new here, but this seems to be the most recent article.

Citadel Flags Risk to $6B NYC Project After Mayor's 'Tax The Rich' Video Outside Billionaire Ken Griffin's $238M Penthouse

https://finance.yahoo.com/economy/policy/articles/citadel-flags-risk-6b-nyc-230122399.html

Quote:
"I want New Yorkers to succeed. I want them to build businesses, to grow our economy and to create good paying jobs," he said on Friday, according to media reports."And Ken Griffin has been a part of that. He's an important employer and business leader in our city, and as I do with every New Yorker, I do want him to succeed."

Mamdani added, however, that he is intent on "balancing this budget in a manner that asks the wealthiest and most profitable corporations to pay a little bit more so that everyone can afford to live in the city. And that means Ken Griffin, and that means so many others across the city."

There is nothing new there, just politics. Vornado has said they fully expect Citadel to move forward. And why wouldn’t tgey, after already spending a large chunk of tgat $6 Billlion? Demo proceeds, and the zoning is in place - with or without Citadel, in either case.

As I said, Vornado is the owner of the 65-year-old building on the Park Avenue block front that will be raised to make way for the Citadel New York headquarters tower, which will employ thousands, further cementing New York as the financial capital of the world, and pay significant taxes and on and on. This building is being designed by the same Foster + Partners architectural team that designed JPMorgan Chase’s new headquarters down the block.

…..Ken, our partner and friend, is the best of the best. Where are we now? As we discussed last quarter, Ken exercised his option to enter our development joint venture and build a new 1.9 million square foot tower with Citadel as the anchor tenant. We have until the middle of July to try and decide whether to participate with Ken in the venture or to sell to him.

Wall Street analysts say Griffin will build $6B tower

By Aaron Elstein
May 05, 2026

Quote:
…a new disclosure late Monday from one of Griffin’s business partners on the project, Vornado Realty Trust, shows that Griffin seemingly deepened his financial commitment to 350 Park roughly one month before Mamdani’s video.

Griffin provided a $400 million loan on March 10 for the proposed tower, which would be anchored by his big financial firm, Citadel, and be located just a few blocks from JPMorgan’s new headquarters building. The loan, which matures in January 2027, transferred the lease for the Park Avenue development site from Citadel to Griffin himself, JPMorgan real estate analyst Anthony Paolone wrote in a report to institutional clients.

“Our take on this is that this signifies the project [is] moving forward,” Paolone wrote. “We surmise that the loan helps move demolition along.”

Another high-profile Wall Street analyst, Steve Sakwa of Evercore ISI, wrote that Griffin’s $400 million loan “certainly signals a firm commitment to the asset and project.”

To me, it seems like Ken Griffin threatening to leave the development is an excellent business strategy which forces Vornado to sell to Griffin at a better price. Griffin isn't dumb and he knows that regardless of politics there is extrodinary value Manhattan. Ironically, Mamdani might have helped mister Griffin negotiate a better price
