Alright but if it's not economically viable without the construction of more parking, it shouldn't be approved at all. It's 1970s auto centric development that runs counter to the decades long urbanization push to move ride share away from cars and towards PT, cycling, and walking. The long term strategy is to remove car lanes as intensification ramps up and these other modes are expanded. This will do the opposite by adding even more cars to our roads. A giant parking garage has no place in the central city. Put it in some car centric waste land like Richmond Hill.

Is 55 Yonge going to continue from site prep right into shoring and then being u/c? Or is it just undergoing site prep and then being put on hold until the market improves? Any help with this would be great please and thanks, Koops.

I don't know actually... it could be capped after demolition, or it may really be U/C, we'll see in the coming weeks.

Great pictures and comments, everybody! I'm hoping the HST cut and the coming reduction of taxes and fees will help get things rolling and more skyscrapers will get built soon!

Also, Toronto has a total of 133 150 metre + towers, including 22 u/c and Chicago has 141 total, including 1 u/c. So we're getting closer to passing them, hopefully within the next few years or so!

Condo sales were up 9.1% YoY in Toronto for April.
