Mid to high 20s throughout the BC interior yesterday and today.

Coastal BC is at the season where I really dislike the YVR station. 16 / 17 yesterday at YVR while Pitt Meadows and Abbotsford have been 24 / 25.

4C and sunny. We were just as much below normal today as we were above Sunday. I really have no words for the pattern the last 6 months. I have also never seen trees so bare at this time of the year.

Low of -1C (wind chill of -7).

The warmspot was Lytton, BC at 30.0C. First 30C this year.

Warmest low yesterday was Pam Rocks, BC at 11.1C.

Nothing but down arrows. We'll have plenty of sunshine this week but temps will continue to be below normal. Low was -0.6. High yesterday was 8.3. Weather has been fine for the heavy digging I've been doing putting in new lawn and gardens... but I'd prefer normal temps.

We only went down to -1 last night, so we avoided a hard frost. The coming weekend has been downgraded to high single digits and rain. First week of May is going to 🞵🞵🞵🞵 bad, lots of rain and could be consistently below 10. Just depressing how we can't seem to latch on to a warm pattern for more than 4-5 days.

Today is below average again, currently 6 going up to 10 with a chance of some showers

Selfishly speaking I hope Toronto is getting all this cold out of its system. I'm there from May 14th to 21st. In 2024 when I visited mid-May the weather was perfect - although one day was too humid to comfortably walk for miles even though it only hit around 20. Last year was nice but on the cool side. I thought of moving my trip towards later May but I really don't want to get into mid 20-s if there is any humidity. I guess it will look/feel like early to mid-spring when I get there (although spring explodes quickly there) which is too bad cause I was hoping for a fuller tree cover.

May 14th you should be good unless there's a real freaky anomaly, by then even below average is around 16-18 degrees. Tree cover should be mostly full, some species are already leafing out now and some flowering species have blossomed.

When the pattern has been so extreme for so long, a reversal that is even more extreme and more insane is bound to happen. Not sure when, but the more we delay, the more extreme it will be.

I recall from last year they said it was the coldest May 20 or 21st (?) day they had since 1967. And the Maple Leafs had just been eliminated from the playoffs a few days earlier. But it didn't freeze over and neither did hell unfortunately for the Leafs.

I just checked Environment Canada - btw, what's the best weather station for downtown Toronto? I used one called "Toronto City' as "Toronto City Centre" or was it Downtown.. anyways that one had missing data. Interesting the highs were higher than I remember, I guess no humidity.

+1C in Moncton at 9 AM and sunny, going up to +7C this afternoon.

It went down to -7C last night. The normal overnight low this time of year is +1C. WTF!!!!

Don't know if this counts as weather, but water levels in the NCR are rising. What was a rare occurrence before 2017 has happened four times since. This is just around the Chaudière Falls and Zibi, but other parts of Gatineau in particular are in a precarious (some river front streets are under water, but not sure if homes have been hit yet).

About 30 seconds in the video, there's a park on the Hull side of Zibi designed by the NCC to resist the spring floods, and we can see how effective it was with the MUP high enough to avoid going under.
