Some of those photos make downtown KW look rather big. I remember what the skyline looked like in the late 1990s when I first joined SSP....there wasn't much other than the Dolly Parton building.

Google Streetview: https://maps.app.goo.gl/BreB2A8muDi4STgH6

flooring looks "builder grade" Home Depot special

I think it’s simple and wonderful. White is the most environmentally friendly colour too… would love to see the government fund more high rise housing like this across the country that featured rental units that were both affordable and desirable!

Imagine what this looks like on a grey day in late March, with even more dilapidated
Tempos and ugly snowbanks crusted in black grit and grime and faded dogshit.

Montreal Nord is for lovers.

Reminds me of another looming silhouette beside a group of multifamily housing:

ahhh, my eyes!!! You could have warned me. Eddy Savoie's most malevolent creation.

Imagine being out there in your backyard in the summer, firing up the BBQ. The sun is out, then it suddenly vanishes, as the Earth turns, because it's path is blocked by Clockzilla. Everyday, you look outside and see that monstrosity. You wonder if you will end up there, like that poor elderly lady begging Gillles Duceppe to rescue her. Heck, like Barad-Dur, it even has a cyclopian eye, balefully casting its gaze on all below, instantly turning anyone unlucky enough to stare back into helpless senior citizens.

When it runs out of seniors Clockzilla will harvest nearby residents to fulfill its' insatiable appetite for souls.

Perhaps that is why Eddy expanded his reach into Ontario to attract rave goers to become future victims.

While checking out the streetview nearby Les Residences Soleil Manoir St. Leonard I made a shocking discovery.

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Les+R%..._ep=EgoyMDI2MDQwNy4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D

There is a competing cyclopian seniors apartment a block away!!!

https://www.google.com/maps/place/R%C3%A..._ep=EgoyMDI2MDQwNy4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D

Cogir Senior Living!!! It's like a more competent (though hideously tacky) version of Eddy Savoie's vision for Les Residences Soleil!

They love mansard roofs and faux stone castle aesthetics.

Clockzilla's fraternal twin! Is there another Eddy Savoie too?

WTF is going on?!?

This is perfect. It goes well together. Eddy Savoie's mausoleum. Where you can go and worship his remains, and think about how his Manoir Soleil's cast darkness (in contradiction to their names) on thousands of people while warehousing seniors.

Ottawa's mayor should consider hiring image consultants...

I fucking love these places:
Chicken on the Way is rumoured to have a swingers club in the basement. Would give Chez Ben's slogan "On s'bour" a funny double entendre. Not to mention what appears to be a neon hotdog eating action sign...

I don't hate it. Don't think it meets the threshold for this thread.

Poor downcast, dejected Duceppe in the humiliating snood. That was his Stanfield-fumble moment.

Wayyyyy back in the day (2005?) I remember doing a photo-thread of ugly inner-suburban Ottawa at the tail-end of winter. This could have easily been one of the shots, and is pretty representative of certain parts of the city during the snow-melt.

I will hate on the bunker or mausoleum trend of McMansion houses just like I hate the everything grey and greige trend that thankfully is going out of style.

The flooring choice of the Fort Erie waterfront house looks so cheap to me. Nothing says elegant about it.

And what's the person in the foreground seemingly collecting? Trash, doggie doo, empties, discarded Liberal/Democrat body parts?
