Toto, I have a feeling we aren’t in Austin anymore.

And a lot of towers are missing from that. Amazing.

The street grid immediately indicates the city is American. China would have never entered my mind, but I definitely would not have guessed Austin.

Great picture. Sun hiding behind Waterline. A light fog between the buildings.

From that photo, I would love us to have a supertall of the same height along this mostly abandoned area of West 5th. It’s screaming for potential.

I would love a big train hall (food hall, public commons vibe) here incorporating Amtrak station, future new terminus for Cap Metro Red Line rail, future regional commuter rail hub connecting Austin and San Antonio - all unlikely as long as Union Pacific remains firm on their grip.

If we're talking about places for a supertall, something more inside downtown close by Woolbridge Square. Thinking of a tower that can look like the renders for Houston's planned Bank of the Southwest Tower back in the 80s in terms of placement.

Austin before and after:
See how much the city changed over the last decade

Stateman article. Pretty wild to see the side by side comparisons of growth. Lot of good stuff to geek out on for the likes of us.

Edit: The map at the end actually allows you to see places elsewhere in the state beyond Austin as well - only in Texas.

Went to an event at the Palmer Auditorium last night and grabbed this from the second floor. Funny but the skyline looks more impressive in person.
