Lloyd Center advocacy groups appeal master plan approval



Two groups are appealing the master plan to redevelop the Lloyd Center Mall.

The plan, which proposes bringing housing and open public green space to the nearly 30-acre mall site, was unanimously approved by the Portland Design Commission in early March.

That approval initiated a 14-day appeal period that closed April 2. Portland's City Council will consider the two appeals received by that deadline.

The appeals came from Matthew Henderson on behalf of the Save Lloyd Campaign and the Northeast Coalition of Neighborhoods and from Jeffrey Kleinman, an attorney who filed on behalf of the Save Lloyd Ice Coalition and Jennifer Gilmore-Robinson.
