When you share a photo on Flickr’s web page, doesn’t work in app, select from top 4 submenus - BBcode. Copy the whole long that come up and insert into your post

How likely is it they'll remove the power lines? Anyone?

Most Coquitlam/Burnaby projects get it done but this one is a hard call

They're replacing the Como Lake Avenue ones with new poles/lines

https://www.bchydro.com/energy-in-bc/projects/coquitlam-pole-power-line-replacement.html

I assume they are pretty high voltage so they're the least likely to be undergrounded?

Fron the project page they're just replacing poles and wires like for like with no indication of changing to duct banks.

Seems like the eastern section is underground.

Quote:
2L51: A 230 kilovolt transmission line from Como Lake Substation in Coquitlam to Barnard
Substation in Burnaby. The line is made up of three, oil-insulated cables buried underground.
The majority of the cable is on BC Hydro fee simple land, although a westerly section
crosses gardens of seven residential properties in an existing BC Hydro statutory right of
way (SRW).
The existing cables were installed in the 1970s and are at end-of-life. In past years, we
remediated leaks at the cable joints in Ranch Park neighborhood.

Aside from the southern towers where skytrain turns north all of these towers are on the Coquitlam side of the border. I wonder why that is

Burnaby has no plans to densify in that area, they want to focus on Lougheed area.
