Link has come in very handy for several big events this year--and easily beaten its ridership records.
The system only recently hit six figures per day, and lately it's been in the 150,000 range since the 2 Line opened. That's out of a bit over 500,000 in local transit rides per day. With that in mind, here are the new Link records:
1. 280,000 on 6/19/26, when the US played Australia then the Mariners played later.
2. 244,000 on 3/28/26, the day East Link was connected to Seattle
3. 220,000 on 2/15/26, the day of the Seahawks' Super Bowl parade
4. 210,000 on 6/15/26, the day Belgium played Egypt
It's not the New York subway, which averages 7,245,000 on weekdays, but it's a lot for a new light rail system in the US.
