They have now removed the dirt ramp from the east side of the pit and rebuilt it along the west wall up to King St. This has exposed the east wall for the drilling machine to install tie backs into the pit wall along the east side. The center of the pit has a small lake with all the rains we've had and you can see a noticeable gray clay layer at that depth. I wonder if this clay layer is something the Geo-technical engineers are happy about or will cause extra work in terms of sinking additional pilings below the foundation to be installed to support the building?
