Did retailers move out or move to new locations? so they could open?

I watched a video just now on their instagram and I still can't figure it out lol. Maybe I will go there on Sunday.

A 4th store has recently closed at City of Lougheed. The mall itself is busy, but many of the stores are always quite devoid of customers. A Dollarama would be great in there, the closest one is up at Burquitlam Plaza.

I believe they were empty or tempory use spaces. Yogen Fruz kiosk appears on the left.. to give you an idea.

12:55 in this mall walkthrough you can see the boarding up where the Muji is

Video Link

Seems like some stores called NoMiNoU and Limeberri were in that spot.

Brunello Cucinelli is expanding into the Thom Browne space at Alberni and Thurlow as Thom Browne is moving to Oakridge. Cucinelli will have locations at both so sales must be very good.

ah thanks for the infos, yes that mall does have a lot of empty and seemingly made-up stores that it gets confusing and unmemorable.

And from the looks of it, it's not the only one.
The Royal Bank that's been earmarked for the ground level should also be opening soon.
The old location (farther south on Granville itself) had been scheduled to close down in preparation for the relocation at the end of last month or early this month, but construction delays forced them to push the opening date back.

Both are still going to be impacted considerably by the ongoing skytrain station construction when they do open, so I imagine RB don't mind the delay too much and it wouldn't surprise me if they keep pushing the comlpete relocation into the summer even.
This story was incorrect and has been updated. The store is not opening Monday. Thought it was strange the store didn't mention it on their socials.

They're supposed to make an update on Monday.

From their building permit it sounds like they are still in construction mode.

The new car dealership replacing Stellantis on Main Street (near the Olympic Village) will be for Ineos. They're a UK vehicle builder with a factory in France building the Grenadier, a vehicle that's a recreation of the Land Rover Discovery, (that was axed by JLR 10 years ago). It has a BMW gasoline engine, but production is planned for next year for the Fusilier, an electric powered vesion that will be built by Magna Steyr at its factory in Graz, Austria. Ineos have already had a small showroom in South East False Creek for over a year.

I've seen a few of those around including one just the other day. I have no idea if they're "good" cars, but they look pretty cool.

They're good for what they're designed to do. If you expect them to be as comfortable in the city as a mainstream big SUV, you'll be disappointed. (chatted with folks in my building who have one)

My YouTube ads have been playing ads for that car brand for months; perhaps I passed one once.

Big grocers' sales flatline in Metro Vancouver as local upstarts flourish

Large Canadian grocers report only a slight rise in food sales but that is not stopping upstart Metro Vancouver grocers from planning expansions.

Their new stores are set to compete with additions from big grocery conglomerates, as the battle for consumer dollars intensifies even as fuel prices push up food costs and grocers report shoppers shifting to less expensive products and becoming more frugal.

Burnaby-based Sungiven Foods Canada is one of the fast-growing Metro Vancouver-based upstarts, planning to open local stores.

Surrey-based Fruiticana is another.

Larger B.C.-based companies, such as Pattison Food Group (PFG) and Georgia Main Food Group Ltd., also plan to open new local grocery stores.

So do national grocery conglomerates such as Loblaw Cos. Ltd. (TSX:L) and Empire Co. Ltd.

They sold 20,000 globally last year.

The former Terrex by Adidas store on W. 4th near Yew (that lost a legal battle and had to rebrand to Adidas) is becoming a Sephora. No space is vacant for long on 4th Ave.

A man has been arrested in connection with a fire that started at a grocery store in a Vancouver neighbourhood that has been in the news a lot over the last year.

I'll bet a dozen Costco hot dogs that he'll be out on bail before the long weekend. That's going to be tough for that part of town. I know there is TNT but it definitely has a different mix of food.

'Life-altering': Vancouver resident says sauna odours effectively 'displaced' him and his dog
Hanna Hett
Apr 1 2026, 10:42 am

A Vancouver resident said he is considering selling his condo after a sauna and cold plunge facility opened in his building four months ago.

Tevah Wellness opened in downtown Vancouver in December 2025. Frank Farkas, a resident in the same building as the spa, said that ever since, its essential oils have been wafting into the building’s HVAC system and into people’s residences. At first, he said the smell was eucalyptus, but he thinks they changed the oil blend.

Because of this, Farkas told Daily Hive that he has “effectively been displaced.” He only goes home to cook and sleep....

... Other residents have had issues with the odours too.

Justin Genest, another resident above Tevah Wellness, was away in December last year for the Christmas holidays. When he returned to his unit in early January, he said he immediately noticed the scent from the spa.

He said he had headaches for the first few days until he started leaving his balcony door open to improve air circulation....

And I'll bet a dozen slices of costco pizza that Pivot Legal gave him the lighter and fuel.
