If you want to talk about this proposal, stick around.

If you just wanna rant/rave about the president for the 8 billionth time, take it to the fucking toilet.

This thread will be HEAVILY moderated for obvious reasons.

Those of you who are only here to fuck around can fuck right off.

Talk about the building or your comment is as good as gone.

If this stern warning doesn't get the message through to you, perhaps a very prolonged, involuntary break from the forum will.

Why does it look like a 1980's version of One World Trade Center?

Move this thread under CE, especially considering it’s already causing a lot of heated, politicized discourse, which will doubtfully go away.

Unnecessary.

We've had a thread about the Obama presidential museum on this forum for the past 13 years, with some 1,600 posts. And I have policed it heavily over the years. Most people know not to fuck around with their stupid fucking stupidity in there.

If people can't post in this thread without talking about trump, his presidency, his policies, etc. then they will be handed lengthy suspensions.

If they still don't get it after that, then they get a one way ticket on the express train to ban city.

It's really not that hard to figure out.

Except for stupid people (ie. most Americans).

Okay, got it. Since my post was deleted, I'll just note it's an interesting tower, which reminds me of Simcity. It's certainly an interesting choice to put it right downtown in Miami, hopefully it has some retail options to make street life on this corner more lively.

I actually don't mind how this building looks - given the way the form of the structure is sculpted, it will be very prominent.

Not to start a war, but that's literally what I think every time I see a new building design for Toronto. . . this one looks less Simcity and more late 1970s early 1980s (unapologetic) modernism with deconstructive elements kind of Jahn inspired geometry but more generic in execution. . . of course the spire and large flag we could do without, but then again I'm waffling on whether or not it needs the hull of Air Force One in the lobby or the golden statue of deer leader. . .

I don’t understand why this is a tower, unlike similar buildings from previous presidents. What part is the library and museum? Is the rest of it office, or hotel? It doesn’t seem well defined, and the renderings appear to be AI-generated, or a mix of that and actual cgi.

Edit: nevermind, I re-read the article description, which described a “future office or hotel” component for the tower. Would that also be funded from donations to the library+museum? Seems highly speculative and financially weird/risky, if that’s the case.

Considering our current surreality, I'm frankly a little surprised a casino isn't being pitched as part of this obscene orgy of vulgarity.

Which is right on brand. There’s little in the way to stopping the tower, the best people can hope for is a nice design. And just when Miami is starting to get some signature skyscrapers on the skyline, this one will probably stick out the most because of that spire.

In this image, I have more of an issue with the new Waldorf Astoria tower, and the strange cube stacking than anything else. It just looks so..dumb. Woof.

The diagram shows a tower (with the spire) much taller than the 1,049 FT MSL max ceiling mandated by the FAA for downtown Miami, unless it was waived by the FAA.

OMG for this rendering if it becomes reality - And not in a good way. I said from the very beginning that Waldorf was not Miami style....

Why is Waldorf not "Miami Style?" I don't understand what that means, aside from the fact that you perhaps don't like it.
The alternating cube tower design is hardly indicative of one city or another.

Trump’s presidential library will be the tallest building in Miami — and contain replica of his ballroom

By Emily Goodin
April 6, 2026

Quote:
Donald Trump’s presidential library will be the biggest building in Miami and feature a replica of the ballroom he’s adding to the White House, his son Eric said on Monday.

“It’s gonna be the tallest building in Miami, by far the best location in Miami,” he told reporters at the White House’s annual Easter Egg Roll. “The piece of land is incredible and we’re really excited.”

The president unveiled dramatic renderings of his forthcoming library last week showing a skyscraper towering over the Miami skyline — with the “Trump” family name illuminated near the top of the building.
Quote:
The president intends to have just that one library in Miami — despite serving nonconsecutive terms in the White House and having previously planned for an earlier site on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, his son said.

In the lobby of the massive building will be the Boeing 747 aircraft that served as Air Force One. The president’s son played coy when asked how the massive plane would be brought into downtown Miami.

“We will do it. You have to build the tower around the plane,” he said without offering more details.
Quote:
Next to the plane will be a golden escalator in a nod to how Trump announced his first presidential bid.

Additionally, the library will contain a replica of the Oval Office as decorated when Trump occupied it, a replica of his Presidential Walk of Fame and a golden statue of the president with a fist in the air — possibly in reference to his “fight, fight, fight” gesture after a July 2024 assassination attempt in Butler, Pa.

The president hinted his library could also serve as a hotel. Trump built his real estate empire based on a series of luxury hotels bearing his name.

“I don’t believe in building libraries or museums,” Trump told reporters recently. “Could be [an] office, but it’s most likely going to be a hotel with a beautiful building underneath and a 747 Air Force One in the lobby.”

lmao.

Anyway, at least the design isn't bad per se, it just looks dated already.

Hmmm...not a fan of the "spire" (if that's what it actually is) and I agree with the above poster that it looks dated already. On the other hand, the finished product will probably be not bad.
