Strongly opposed to the location of this for a few key reasons.
1) The significance of Ojibway's biodiversity cannot be understated. Carolinian forests are vanishing, especially in Canada as they are only found in Southwestern Ontario and more specifically in Windsor-Essex. The infrastructure and the parking that would be needed to accommodate a stadium would be massive and threaten Ojibway. Of course, it wouldn't diminish the size of the park, but it would create adverse conditions for the flora and fauna in the area. There are industrial areas nearby, so adding onto this with a stadium is not doing the park any favours, to say the least.
2) Ojibway is a tourist draw already. Investing in it further and increasing the size can only make it a more attractive draw for residents in the area and from even further away. It is also a place for scientific study. I lived in Edmonton and worked at the Royal Alberta Museum and some of the naturalists and those working in the natural sciences section at the museum marveled at the importance and significance of Ojibway; it has a reputation already, this should be built on.
3) Building the stadium here would add to urban sprawl and would be akin to building another WFCU. Like the massive mistake that is the WFCU, this location is not close to downtown and would not support any major businesses that need it. There are other locations in the city that could accommodate a CFL stadium (old GM grounds near Ottawa street), but right next to Ojibway is not it. Terrible, terrible idea. Its foolish and moronic, actually. Windsor deserves better than this.
