that is awesome. Can you take a picture every day from the same spot as they are putting up the beams? I'd love to have a progression.

I'm not in office every day but I'll update when I am. They seem to be making short work of it. There were already another couple there as I was leaving yesterday.

yeah, what an excellent reuse of a gargantuan former Hudson's Bay store. IIRC this particular store was once the largest in the entire chain with well over 600,000 square feet. Not an easy task to redevelop! The huge skylight/daylit wood panelled atrium and gigantic totem pole will be quite the sight!

Are all of the units going to be affordable housing? Or is there going to be a mix of market rate too?

It looks like this project has been handled extremely well on the construction side. I haven't read anything about unexpected issues cropping up, except on the cost side.

Does it look like they'll reach their projected completion date?

Should point out that its never been proven that Cheswick takes photos from IG tower and if he did what floor he didn't take them from.

I have spent a considerable amount of time using the main frame computer in our office, triangulating and calculating Cheswicks actual location. I can say with confident certainty that the photos are indeed from the IG tower and he is located on a floor located between the 5th and 18th floor facing south.

Nice. So this timber is a solid glue lam type product? It's not hollow?

I am surprised that none of the parties involved with the project have engaged some of the licensed professional drone operators that fly downtown to take publicity pictures of the site

Oh yeah. I think I saw the hard hat with the golden lettuce flowing beneath it.

Although the new atrium timber roof isn't visible from street level nearby. It is visible from down Portage Ave for example. Driving in from Polo Park area, it was obvious to me. Might look nice with some lighting at night.

It's not massive, but does look taller (less squat?) than it does in the photos from Cheswick.
