I forgot to mention the last time I was out there a few weeks ago work was being built in the SE corner of Arens / Woodland Grove intersection. Address of the parcel is 2910 Kaufman Way but I couldn't find a permit associated with it. Plot size suggests it should be a multi-unit project.

This is what I was wanting thank you for your response

The tender for the 3rd phase of the South Sewage Trunk project is out. I had to laugh at the type of pipe they are running through the RCMP grounds, "The trunk consists of watertight reinforced concrete microtunneling pipes (RCMPs)". Nearly the entirety of this years work from McCarthy to 13th Ave will be done using a small tunnel boring machine to install 78" pipe.

Work starts on the second north Albert Ring Road bridge March 23.

Long term care site from yesterday and some other photos from today. Assembling form work for the first part of second floor at the LTC, only one corner piece appears installed. Poured the second ground floor slab this week. A 3rd section of ground floor where the wings meet looks to be ready to be poured next week.

Moving fast on the Ronald McDonald house exterior. Starting 3rd floor walls at Toronto & 15th project. Took another picture of the aquatic center site.

I went to overlay a drawing of the aquatic centre on a map to see what part they are working on and it ended up being parking lot which didn't seem right. There was a site plan with the discretionary use permit application that shows a playground / spray pad in that area but further north, so maybe that layout isn't right either.

Another building planned for the site. https://canterburyrentals.ca/site_map.html

I had an appointment in the east end so I got a few shots of the Neville Drive projects. Starting to install the facade on the 6 story.

I am assuming that these are excavations of the "fun pools":

Is this abomination still $314 million, or has it gone up again?

Based site plan from the zoning variation application, that area is parking lot / spray pad (but the spray pad is supposed to be further north). But that site plan showed the geothermal plant over by the field house, so those wells seem to be in the wrong spot. Maybe that site plan was wrong, or maybe they need widely separated wells for the intake and return.

That excavation is to the south of the shack (red rectangle in image below). Another possibility is that its just a spot to park a drilling rig to drill the wells.

The non-construction of this pool is a hot mess. I don’t think they have a clue what they’re doing.

Noticed this morning that there is some utility work being done in the last remaining empty area of Grasslands in Harbour Landing. Anyone have any idea if stuff is going in there? The original plan (way, way back) was apparently a theatre, but that was being Landmark opened in the east end.

Thought the original plan was to have the exact same multi level building to match on the other side with residential on top.

I thought the fog cleared enough to get some shots of the Long Term Care site but not quite. When the drone landed it had mist on the lens and ice on the leading edge of the propellers. When flying in fog the drone thinks there is an obstacle below it and doesn't want to descend quickly. I probably could have turned off collision detection to override that.

I tried the haze removal filter in Darktable and it worked surprisingly well. They are setting up the forms for the first section of second floor, and pouring the first floor columns for the section they poured the first floor for last week. I should be able to get some better photos Friday, I think the snow is going to miss us.

Saw surveyors at the new Costco site and some construction fencing getting dropped off. No new construction equipment.

Split view of the before / after haze removal.

On the parcel mentioned above in Grasslands, Harvard announced their plans here:

https://harvard.ca/news/grasslands-continues-growth-with-new-mixeduse-residential-project

I like that they're keeping the mixed-use component, but a a bit of un inspiring design overall. Particularly that massive surface parking lot. An interior courtyard/plaza would have been neat to see instead (With the parking underground). That NE corner of Building B is a bit obtrusive as well.

300 units is big. I assume there is no underground parking. This is going to add to the parking woes in HL. As it appears certain there will be less than 1 spot per unit. You also need parking for guests and commercial.

Building permit report this week includes a 90 unit multifamily project at 8325 WASACASE BOULEVARD in Westerra. That street is not even on Google maps yet.

Also, a $2.3 million permit for a 12 unit build on the empty lot on the NE corner of 12th and Toronto.
