Yes, lol, and there were so many typos in that email from the boss that I felt it best to delete the screenshot 😅

I’ll try and snap a pic of the place week. It does look close to opening.

Status update on the new country market store on the west side, located on Bay Street. (Same owner as Dan's Country Market on Churchill Blvd). He said they will open in the spring, probably the end of April. Will sell meat, produce, frozen food, grocery, candy, scooped ice cream, and lots of local items.

(Photo is from the owner who shared it over on Facebook)

I suspect this will do well here given NB's love affair with Dollar stores.

I don’t think many items in there will actually be priced at dollar store prices, but I’ve heard people describe the wares so far as “mostly affordable”.

The store is now open, btw:

When’s the last time you had to drive down Duke Street West, Sailor?

Your cheap, Danish footstool awaits!

Now I'm even more curious to get in there and get a first-hand look at the renovations. They have to have overhauled the sprinklers and HVAC for them to look the way they do in those photos. And I'm surprised they even seem to be using the back areas as showroom space!

I shopped in this store many times..............with my mom when it was the Dominion Store and T bone steak was 99 cents a pound! (This was right about the time that the brand new and very shiny Havelock Elementary opened)

I saw this earlier this week. Do we think Saint John might finally get a Mezza's?

If you are serious, it is a fast-casual Lebanese restaurant. They have a location in Fredericton on Prospect and in Moncton. A lot of locations in Nova Scotia, too, where they started. I have been to the Fredericton location a few times, and I enjoyed it.

They've been trying to set up a franchise somewhere in the SJ area, but it hasn't happened yet, but I think it will soon.

They have been shopping for a spot but they are hard to come by in SJ at the moment. They were recently offered a spot at McCallister place but were on the fence about the location last I heard.

Sounds like the old Naan Your Business is going to be a Domino's on the north end.
