Curious if any locals have an opinion on the efficacy of this strategy

it's 1000% more effective than letting McKee keep them. he should be in prison. over 20 years he collected almost 2000 North-side properties (many in secret through anonymous shell companies), let them rot/collapse/burn/be hauled away by brick thieves, drove out long-time residents and destroyed what equity they had, and collected millions of $ in tax breaks and gifted land based on the promise that he would rehab and redevelop. all the promises were empty. instead, in 20 years, he built a gas station, a convenience mart, and a 3-bed "hospital", the latter two of which shuttered within months. and he made a shit-load of money selling the Pruitt-Igoe site to the federal government at an inflated price. seriously f**************ck Paul Mckee.
