One gets use to the noise after a while. I stayed for one summer at relatives house on Mission St next the CN mainline and would actually wake up at night because it was too quiet (train was running late).

Their house was so old it had next to nothing for insulation so I am sure a more modern building would be really sound proof next to a major rail line.

I'm surprised that CN has never put a trackside lubrication unit there to reduce the noise that carries over the the Fairmont Hotel.

We get it. You think it will be noisy. The city and the Forks thank you for your concern.
Hello, trains are never are on time... it arrived at 00:30 AM and left at 05:00 AM.

I live at FGP and idling trains especially going west are horrendous for the idling.

Hah! Well, I saw that picture of New West's new tallests right next to the tracks and thought it was a good illustration.

Figures this would be a city self-own. Reminds me of the foolishness banning residential at Polo.

Thanks for the information, 1ajs and bomberjet

I was thinking of that weird noise accommodation that blocked or limited multifamily in nearly half the city. I think they got rid of it a few years ago
