Wow, still a long way to go. I hope that concrete looks better when it's finished. The renderings don't give me hope though.

Cool

I saw it yesterday. I like it. It reminds me of a casino, you know, Biff Tannen's Pleasure Paradise. lol. I like it. It's a decent building.

Hey, y'all, I've missed riding my bike around San Antonio every July during the dog show at the Freeman Coliseum to take photos. Long story short, I met a woman 2 years ago from Alabama who I spent some time with, including in San Antonio last year for 4 days. Well, that's over with. This year I was in a funk, and didn't go for a ride either. So, I haven't been on a photo exposition bike ride in 2 years. Next year, I will, I promise. I might even take a day and go for a ride this fall.

Miss my "other city".

I had that same thought, as well. It's cute! It's like the baby brother of Hilton Palacio, although this one took triple the time to build.

Sorry about that, Kevin. Breakups suck, especially when it seemed like something good. Sending you good mojo.

Zachry Hospitality is set to open its $185 million luxury hotel at Hemisfair, more than a decade in the works, this spring.

Named the Monarch San Antonio, an homage to the monarch butterflies that migrate through the city, the 200-room hotel overlooks Civic Park downtown.

I saw this in person a couple months ago and hoped they hadn't completed the exterior finishes yet but nope, that's really the way it looks. The shades on this are so bland they hurt my eyes.

Really obsessed with the curve on this. Colors could be a bit more imaginative... but overall I love it. The rooftop lounge/restaurant has be wanting to do a weekend trip just to hang out.

I sure hope they let me take pictures with my professional camera from up there. I can't believe a new problem I encounter now is, no professional cameras on rooftops. The Thompson wouldn't let me take a picture of the view from rooftop bar. The Four Season Hotel in St. Louis, MO also told me not to take pictures from their rooftop after I had already done it. So now hotels want to copywrite their views. So now having a awesome expensive camera is a bad thing.

I wonder when they'll have photos of the actual spaces. Looks like renderings on the website still.
