Nay, I'm afraid that distance is about 16 km. 47 km would take you to Newmarket.

Yup. It's only 11 miles (17.7 km) from Queens Quay to Steeles.

You know it, as a former North Yorker.

Well, I was really a Just-North-of-North-Yorker. Our house was half a block north of Steeles, but just about everywhere I went outside of school was in Metro. And most of that was in North York. Even walked my dog in Bestview Park because it was super close.

The hubs took this so-so pic of downtown LA today from the Mt. Wilson Observatory parking lot. At 5,715 ft. in elevation, we were roughly 16 miles, as the crow flies, from downtown LA. Downtown Pasadena is in the foreground.

I've attempted that shot twice from the Dunes and could never get the skyline because it was either too humid, washed out or hazy.
