I am wondering if they may close the one on Dewdney and Albert once this is complete? That one has nothing but problems with vagrants and undesirables.

I was thinking that. I can't remember a standalone McDonalds ever closing. My brother had someone steal something out of his passenger seat while he was in the drive through line. Another person had a bike stolen off their car while they went in to eat.

Warm today so I hit up several spots. Ronald McDonald house getting exterior insulation and it facade. Broad & College building has a roof. Toronto & 15th project crawling its way towards a 3rd floor. It looks like they were pouring concrete for the first wing columns at the LTC today (using the crane to life a concrete bucket), building the basement columns for the final wing, and laying rebar for the second wing first floor slab. Some insulation going on the exterior of the Harbour Landing School. Working on several apartment foundations in Westerra. I also saw a small drilling rig along Pinkie where the new sewage pumping station is going, so a preliminary geotechnical survey.

It's interesting that the Harbour Landing West joint school is going to be ready in just over a year...but it sounds like city council is cancelling the actual Harbour Landing West development (or at least delaying for 20-30 years). That's not necessarily a bad thing for this school, however, considering that this school is needed for the existing Harbour Landing families. Once Harbour Landing West is developed, they will need two more schools of their own.

1st half of 4 story in Skyview is about to get its roof. A lot of materials piled up to start working on the second half of the building.

15 buildings total, 4.5 of which have been framed. 4 more townhouse foundations fairly far along. Look to be starting work on additional foundations. Foundation piles already done for the entire site. The 4 story building is nearly half the units of the entire project.

That's a ton of traffic going in and out of Skyview via Koep Ave or onto Diefenbaker, i'm sure those residents are thrilled about that.

Alternatively, and as a result, I'm wondering if this will speed up development west of Skyview, with a connection over the tracks tieing into north of Maple Ridge?

The city snow blower went by while I was out and I managed to launch the drone and catch up to it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mlTQwHAb7g

I should have got a different computer when I upgraded my desktop last year. I got a used Dell Optiplex 3060 which is fine for photo editing but lacks the power for 4k video encoding. It could be sped up with a GPU but the Dell uses a proprietary power supply with insufficient wattage to run a dedicated videocard.

Cool, thanks for sharing this! I wondered how a street near me had been cleared, but there weren't any piles of snow along the side!

There was a lot more snow last year when they came to haul it away. So much snow they did it in early December. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alhVEZSum8k

Video of the Harbour Landing School. I tried out a tracking mode on the drone where it keeps a target centered as you fly around it. It will be nice when its warmer, hard to try out the different features while out in the cold wearing gloves. Many of options are only enabled while flying so you can't try them on the controller with the drone off.

Another panorama of the Long Term Care site. Drone can't seem to stitch in the part of the image directly overhead (apparently a limitation on how far up the camera can be pointed), which usually isn't noticeable as its often just sky.

Assembling support platforms to frame the second floor on the first wing of the long term care building. The two large 2 story areas at the back of the school must be the gyms since there are no floors in there.

Regina exec committee to discuss downtown parking, new joint-elementary school
Council will discuss traffic by-law changes, including any changes to the removal of coin payment for parking meters.
New joint-use elementary school:

Regina Public Schools and Regina Catholic Schools are preparing to finalize a location for a new joint elementary school.

The proposed site sits in “the Towns North,” located off of Green Stone Road and Arens Road.

The Government of Saskatchewan and the City of Regina have agreed on terms for the new site, including the province contributing $4.55 million towards the servicing of the parcel.

City administration now needs councillors to approve the terms of the agreement.

All approved motions from this meeting will be finalized at the March 11 city council meeting.

Any idea where the new school is going to be located?

Starting work on the second half of the Neville Drive 6 story building. Some minor work at the Aquatic Centre. The pile of concrete wasn't there last time I took a photo. They may leave most of the old parking lot in place for now if it is outside the building footprint to keep the site less muddy.

I rode through the exhibition grounds after stopping by the aquatic centre site and saw work was being done at the distillery. They were digging in front of it and you could see the piles under the building. After determining the address was 1700 Elphinstone I found a 150,000 permit for a building expansion. So jumping right into the Semple redevelopment of the site.

Should be in that square plot north of Arens. They'd been dumping clay there to raise the ground. The field is a bit lower than the land south of it. The road on this side of the plot is Green Stone and the next is Welby Gate, with Kaufman being just after the Woodland Grove intersection. In the second picture Welby Gate is shown and Greenstone is just off screen to the left.

I forgot to mention the last time I was out there a few weeks ago work was being built in the SE corner of Arens / Woodland Grove intersection. Address of the parcel is 2910 Kaufman Way but I couldn't find a permit associated with it. Plot size suggests it should be a multi-unit project.
