1360 Ogilvie Rd | 16m | 4f | Proposed

Better Living Housing Co-operative is proposing the development of a four-storey affordable housing apartment building at 1360 Ogilvie Road, that is to replace a former stacked dwelling building damaged by fire in 2022. The proposed low-rise apartment building will have a gross floor area of 3,900 square metres and consist of 39 units, including 26 one-bedroom units, four two-bedroom units, and nine three-bedroom units.

The proposed development is looking to reinstate 13 of its previous units that were lost in the fire as well as introducing an additional 26 units at or below CMHC’s Average Market Rent.

There are 43 vehicle parking spaces and 39 bicycle parking spaces provided with this four-storey building, 32 of which will be located in an underground parking garage. The existing driveway and surface parking, from Ogilvie Road, is proposed to be redesigned as a woonerf to allow a safer and more comfortable interface between pedestrians and vehicles.

Good little project. Glad they have a plan to replace what was there previously, and add to it. Too bad they couldn't make it a little taller.

It does slot in nicely with the housing on either side of it though. I'm good with this thing at 4 floors.

Could easily be 6 though.
