Someone finally opening in that renovated building on Granville Island:

Quote:
Ownership remains unchanged. Burdy is run by Natalie Carmichael, Anthony Perre, and Maxwell Adrich, who have worked together for more than a decade. Production stays in-house, with the same ingredient standards that defined the food truck. Burdy’s move from truck to bricks is about focus, not scale. The corner unit will offer 14 seats (not a lot, but up 14 from their previous situation!) and there will be two small patios and an outdoor space shared with six other food businesses. It’s a setup built for pace, volume and repetition, and part of a broader push toward longer nights in an area that typically winds down early.

Are there retail space in the mall that are directly underneath this hotel tower? Or is everything directly below the tower, down to the garage, vacant?

Everything on the west side of the mall is basically under the hotel podium. The tower is just the center bit.

This old DP permit application for the Apple Store shows the mall levels. The Apple store was from Aldo to the Body Shop

Directly under the tower would have been hotel lobby and function space on Level 3, Level 2 lobby and adjacent mall retail (still open), and below that Level 1 msll retail (still open).
Under the hotel meeting and ballroom offset from the tower to the north would be Levrl 2 and Level 1 retail (both still open).

A zillion years ago, did the Four Seasons have a direct connection with the old Holt Renfrew location? Something tells me yes, but I'm not certain.

Yes it was right in front of the escalators when you came from the street entrance drop off area with the two entrances to the restaurant (it's called Seasons on the map below but no idea if it had a different name) and Chartwell Room. I think it would have connected to what is the upper floor of H&M (?)

In the plans above, the light blue is where they are filling in the old Eaton's alcove.
Restaurant could be by the windows on level 3.
There are 2 small washrooms next to the freight elevator that could be for the restaurant.
There's also an internal staff lunchroom on 3.

Here's the mall level - it looks like an UP escalator only (Aritzia's elevator does not go to mall)
But they do have the 2 freight elevators.

Damn - I guess Hugo Boss moved out!

Another drawing shows what looks like a staff area/lockers or something through a side door for the rest of the space.

Yeah, some sort of a meeting room (but how do you access it (other than the loading dock hall)?)
I'm surprised there is no stair next to that escalator (as shown in the plan below).
Could be to prevent shoplifters escaping downstairs or just to prevent shortcutters to the mall.

The ground floor plan also tells us where the Tenant 1 demising walls will be,
inserted in blue. Bigger ground floor than Aritzia!
Tenant 1 has an elevator at the back corner (shown on Aritizia plans)
but needs escalators.
I still think that Tenant 3 (Simons?) should have an entrance from Howe St.

PS - there's active construction building the Tenant 3 No. 731 entrance corridor.
