Hate to say it, but it would be a nice space for an observation deck.

would be a tempting source of income for Ken Griffin, especially since an observation tower/ride attraction recently failed spectacularly in Miami. The market is wide open for that sort of thing.

Exactly what I'm afraid of.

Yeah, I liked that proposal, and was convinced it would be built. But the views would be great atop any one of these new supertall towers going up in Miami.

Citadel HQ is officially under construction, or close to it. I walked by the site the other day, and witnessed a ton of heavy equipment on site with piling for the foundation already in progress.

It was scheduled to start 1st quarter of 2026. If true, it's a little weird that there is no grand groundbreaking or news.

If it's officially under construction, this thread should be moved in the correct subforum, no? Great job Miami, a second supertall already. Exciting!

I predict that this will be primarily a condo and hotel with 300k square feet of office space. People in finance don't want to leave the Financial Capital of the World to go to the sunbelt.

As per files only about 3 months ago, this still has 1,485,174 square feet of office space, among other uses like hotel. So your prediction is not correct.

I’m waiting for the final product.

^ That top is ugly AF, though. If built like that (final design), I’ll have to look forward to it being dwarfed and hidden, like what happened with the “Gherkin” in London in the last two decades.

It will never be dwarfed in Miami due to height limits set by the flight paths to MIA. This tower is the current height limit +/-. Any other supertalls in the City of Miami will be around the same height.

That architect never learned of the tapering principle in skyscraper aesthetics? Shame.

It would be a fine tower (a bit bland but still perfectly okay) without that weird "hat"...

I think the architect firm that designed this tower is the one and only Foster and Partners. I would have expected something more grand coming from this firm.
