That's about the size of a large Humpback Whale or an adolescent Sperm Whale (~47 tons)!

Porter adds AUS

Toronto Pearson - Austin

(E195-E2)*

May 21, 2026

5x weekly

Pretty decent add especially as US-CA traffic is in the dumps and Porter has very limited onward connections from YYZ.

interesting add since Air Canada already has a year-round daily flight plus a second seasonal daily flight. Is the market gonna be over served? Don't forget Air Canada is also re-starting daily to SAT. Hopefully good deals on airfare soon.

The ice/sleet storm delayed the closing for a few more weeks.

ABIA will make an announcement well in advance of its closing as to make sure customers don't go there to catch their flights.

Plausible questions. However, YYZ still has some demand and 2025 O&D traffic out of AUS to Canada is up 9% (US average is down 10%). Additionally, revenue on Canadian routes to/from AUS are up 18% (US average was down 6%).

It will be interesting to watch SAT's AC flight. It was not successful once before (ending service in 2020, I believe). But, this time, AC is flying fewer times a week (3x) and using smaller aircraft (A220).

some things flying under the radar for AUS in wave of Southwest announcements.

Southwest is firming up details for new flights come October. One of which is part of long-waited service in Knoxville (TYS) Great Smoky Mountains region (AUS-TYS/TYS-AUS Saturdays) and weekly Saturday and seasonal(?) service to STS Sonoma County (Charles Schulz).

Per Southwest booking calendar:
AUS to STS 1035am-1220pm Saturdays
STS to AUS 1110am-445pm Saturdays

Otherwise you can connect to and from on other day via Southwest to add service to/from STS to San Diego, Las Vegas, Burbank, and Denver.

Another option for those heading up North Coast/Redwoods/Mendocino or spending time in Sonoma/Napa. Sonoma Press Democrat article here

This makes 10 international carriers serving Austin.

There probably isn't a need but I'd like to see a non-stop to Edmonton, Alberta.

I've been sleeping on our Air Canada direct and am taking advantage of YUL this summer! Scored some super cheap tickets and happy to support our friends up north

The last day of the South Terminal is March 31. Those airlines will begin operating out of the BJT on April 1.
