They're doing this in northeast San Antonio too, Selma/Retama Park, Olympia Parkway area. Should have done a monorail instead of adding more car capacity.

Man, the state needs to get moving asap on upgrading 183 as an expressway south of 71 with Wm. Cannon and soon Slaughter extending all the way out there.

No kidding.

I've commuted often to the general aviation facilities at AUS, and while I can pay the toll to avoid the traffic up up to a certain point, at that certain point during rush hour is an extra 10-15 minutes of waiting trying to get to Burleson.

Just wish when they do expand the road, they don't add a toll plaza at the very end of it. Two toll plazas within 4 miles? What?? I often get off at the Burleson exit going South so I don't have to pay for an extra mile of toll not even...

Would eliminate most traffic if they'd expand it to SH45/130 as beyond Lockhart there isn't much commuting anymore.

This one is removing on-street parking to expand the side walks and add permanent bike lanes. It's starting at Cesar Chavez and goes to 7th Street. I think they said each block will take about 3 months.

The full plan includes a pedestrianized 7th-11th and widened sidewalks on Congress bridge, but that will be evaluated after this part of the project is wrapped up in 2027.

Barton Springs Rd Bridge

After assessment the bridge is likely to be completely replaced, with option #3 preferred.

Road bikes to the new "wishbone" bridge. Pretty cool! Loved how many people were there to check it out. Most surprising view was back thru the damn ( toward the east) looking at river.
It's a great addition to the trail!

Love that they are incorporating the art deco details into the new bridge. I've always thought those are what made the existing bridge so charming.

The giant "Y" overpass where 290 meets 71 in Oak Hill (aka the "Oak Hill Parkway") is on schedule to finish this year. All lanes will open to and from Dripping Springs starting in the summer. Then final clean up. This one is a game changer for SW Austin:
