Eddie's forecast for St. John's... ugh...

Quote:
Low End (10th percentile): ~30 cm
Most Likely (50th precentile): ~40 cm
High End (90th percentile): ~48 cm

This indicates a range of roughly 30 to 50 cm for the metro area, which is reasonable given the setup. The question I have is whether the snow will change to ice pellets and/or freezing rain for a few hours on Monday afternoon, after heavy snow Sunday night into Monday morning and before another round on Monday night?

If that occurs, the total will be closer to 30 cm; if it doesn't, the total will exceed 40 cm.

Definitely up there. Van/Vic is warmer, but wetter, so kind of a trade off.

Calgary's forecast for the week has been upgraded and went from nice to wonderful.

10C, 8C, 10C, 11C, 15C, 15C, 13C and sunny every day.

Definitely the winner for this week (though some sunshine might come to the south coast in a couple days with temps as high as 16 forecasted)

But, Victoria, Abbotsford and much of Vancouver just came off of 12 sunny days with afternoon temps largely in the double digits.

Pouring rain in the morning, but decent in the afternoon. High of 11C.

Once the rain stopped, people were hopping around downtown.

There were a bunch of protests downtown

Finally stopped by Din Tai Fung to see how it stacks up to the ones in Taiwan and China. It's pretty close. All the classics are on the menu.

Fantastic photos giallo - damn your meal looks great. It's partly the time of year and the subjects in your photo but it does seem as though Vancouver is gaining street heft and depth if that makes sense. Not just a shiny modern glass city (and that really only came to the forefront post Expo 86) but busier, grittier, more visual variety, and a better overall pedestrian experience.

Ugh. Errands. And there's already enough snow. It's also still freezing.

Thanks!

I think the last boom cycle (construction and population) kicked things up a notch. Even in the winter, things don't really quiet down like they used to. The city is generally busy everywhere.

-11C (windchill -17) in Moncton at 11 AM and mostly cloudy.

Moncton will dodge the bullet with the nor'easter. It is pushing even further off shore and we are expected to get no more than a trace to 5 cm of snow, It will still be windy however.

-11C with a wind chill of -13 and sunny. The sun feels strong if you are inside but god damn it is cold outside.

January was... surprise, surprise colder than normal. Our 3rd consecutive month below normal. Someone need to find the last time a place out West had 3 straight months below normal (based on 90-20 normals).

Low of -15C (wind chill of -21) this morning.

The warmspot was Lethbridge, AB at 15.7C.

Warmest low was Estevan Point, BC at 8.8C
