SOM unveils NYC's "most advanced trading environment" inside JPMorganChase skyscraper

SOM designed these spaces to be "the largest and most advanced trading environment in New York City", and to facilitate "the pace, precision, and collaboration of finance in the digital era" for 4,000 traders across 500,000 square feet (46,500 square metres).

The interconnected spaces are organised as a series of two-storey suites, each revolving around a double-height atrium that accommodates staircases, a hub cafe and conferencing areas.

The tower's distinctive bronze diagrid exterior beams are repeated in the atria, while natural materials and live plants are intended to create a welcoming atmosphere in the arrival areas.

Large, open trading floors are laid out to maximise daylight from the glass facades, supplemented by ceilings with integrated circadian lighting deeper into the floor plates.

It's not as if they're hiding it. It's why they created those massive trading floors. Any trader who works there obviously doesn't have to.

Correct. And there are many more sites + More will always pop up.

Eventually, the following subdistricts will visually merge:

Bus Terminal towers
Penn Station redevelopment
Hudson Yards further development
Times Square
Midtown East

It will clearly be the single greatest skyscraper cluster known to mankind.

Most would argue it already is, but it would just become moreso.

What we lack in top-end height (we won't have a Burj Khalifa most likely), we will more than make up for in the sheer mass of tall buildings.

The one project we would all lose our minds over would be if the Metropolitan Life North Tower is built out to it's original height.. That would be INSANE in the coolest way!!

I had forgotten that 270 Park Ave has a higher roof than 1WTC, further demoting 1WTC to #5 by roof height in NYC. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think NYC is the only city whose "tallest building" is ranked so low by roof height. It's a travesty.
