Originally the idea was that it would connect to the Witte Museum as well, but friends of the golf course and the River Road neighborhood but a stop to that. Plus in the end they kind of ran out of money so they wound up doing a halfassed path around the edge of the golf course on Avenue B. So in some sense it does connect to the Witte, but not really.
Good to know. The perch from the Witte "treehouse" building is one of my favorite spots on the San Antonio River.
Guess it is safe to say that beyond the crown elements the exterior of the building is mostly complete now (I believe the river level had a bit of work left however)
I can still vaguely remember when this was Bella’s on the Riverwalk (later Houston) and that big sickly tree hung over the sidewalk over the water…now the entire block has been redeveloped!

It's missing some finishing touches but it's basically done. It's a cool looking building but street level is pretty grim. I understand the reasons for that.

Yeah I think the pedestrian aspect is relegated to the river which is fine.
Overall, I'm pleased with how this one turned out. It'll be interesting to see how leasing goes here. The floor plans are... odd... to say the least. But glad to see a more modern looking building coming to fruition in the core that adds residences and appropriate density to an area more historically reserved for vacationers.
