There is YTO, but that means Billy Bishop and Pearson as a group. Pearson is still YYZ, Biily Bishop still YTZ. No doubt there is a technical reason for this assigning each aiport a code.

YVR and YXX would obviously have to keep their airport codes, but I'm talking about a regional code.
Examples include:
YTO(YYZ,YTZ)
YMQ(YUL, YHU, YMX) Rarely used now that Mirabel isn't used, but with the up and coming YHU, perhaps more useful.
SEL(ICN, GMP) Seoul
TYO(NRT,HND) Tokyo
LON(LHR,LGW,LCY,STN,LTN,SEN) (I'd argue a few shouldn't be included)
PAR(CDG,ORY)
In some ways YVR, YXX serve two different markets as YXX still is pretty far away, but I think the two airports will always function as a region and perhaps moreso as time goes on.
On another note, the FVX #66 bus is apparently a super popular bus. I wonder if there will be a market for a bus to YXX once the Surrey SkyTrain opens up. The bus service in Abbotsford is horrible, bu especially its bus to the airport. Doesn't drop you off anywhere near the terminal, which is ridiculous.
