The city hall cafeteria has undergone several iterations, and re-opened in 2018 following renovations. It’s been sitting vacant for the last several years.
According to the City of Regina, the new kitchen will open on Jan. 5, 2026 after a soft launch the week of Dec. 8.
“Capital City Kitchen will bring homemade meals, local ingredients and a welcoming atmosphere to everyone who lives, works or visits the area,” said Mike Powell, manager of facilities and building services at the City of Regina. “All of Administration is looking forward to the new cafeteria and to welcoming visitors to City Hall.”

The city added the new cafeteria will feature daily hot specials, fresh made breakfast, grab-and-go items and a rotating menu of Saskatchewan-inspired flavours.
The city also confirms the new kitchen will partner with community groups to provide programming that supports “social inclusion, employment and skills development and community engagement.”
The cafeteria is located on the main floor of city hall and will be open to the general public during business hours.
