I wonder how much Hyatt will charge for a room in the new building. It's +/- $600 a night now, but, with the super high and new hotel rooms with views I'm sure the prices are going to be much much higher. I may need to start an OnlyFans to stay there

Did you need to share that with us? I envision some scary scenes out of a male "bath house" in Chelsea. I respect everyone's lifestyle ... Different strokes for different folks, but still...

This news is on multiple sites now.

https://seekingalpha.com/news/4539996-so...locating-manhattan-headquarters---report

Quote:
French lender Societe Generale (SCGLF) (SCGLY) is scouting roughly 500K square feet of Manhattan office space as it weighs relocating its New York headquarters from the 245 Park Ave. skyscraper, according to a Friday media report.

Vornado Realty's (VNO) 15 Penn Plaza could be a potential new location, as well as 175 Park Ave. and Hudson Boulevard, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar. The bank's lease at 245 Park matures in 2032.

A number of large financial firms have been active in prime Manhattan real estate as of late. JPMorgan Chase (JPM) in October opened its new global headquarters in midtown, and Moody's (MCO) has said it will move its global base to 200 Liberty Street at Brookfield Place in Lower Manhattan from the 7 World Trade Center building.

Bloomberg said that spokespeople for Societe Generale (SCGLF) and SL Green Realty (SLG), the owner of 245 Park Ave., declined to comment.

^ Yes, it seems that 175 Park already has an anchor tenant, and a tenant seeking this much space would like to get that anchor tenant space. However, this tower does have over 2 msf of offices, and with the way it's stacked, maybe that could work out. Staying in the area could be huge though. Also, SL Green could get moving on 346 Madison.

Please, please, jumpstart one of these hibernating projects....

SocGen Considers Moving NYC Base Out of Park Avenue Office Tower

French bank Societe Generale SA is considering relocating its New York headquarters from its current offices at 245 Park Ave., a skyscraper that occupies an entire city block.

The Paris-based firm is seeking roughly 500,000 square feet of offices elsewhere in Manhattan
, according to people familiar with the matter, who asked not to be identified because the discussions are private.

Potential new locations include Vornado Realty Trust’s 15 Penn Plaza, RXR Realty and TF Cornerstone’s 175 Park Ave. and Boston Properties and the Moinian Group’s 3 Hudson Boulevard, the people said.

Societe Generale’s lease at 245 Park expires in 2032. The firm is also contemplating staying at its current building, the people said.
Quote:
Large financial services firms have been actively looking for spaces in top-quality offices in Midtown, especially on Park Avenue, where companies including hedge fund Citadel and alternative asset manager Blue Owl Capital Inc. have expanded in recent years.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. opened its new megatower in that corridor late last year, and it’s spending about $1 billion to renovate the old Bear Stearns offices across the street.

With many of the most in-demand buildings running out of available space, new construction could be a viable option for firms seeking new offices.

Related Cos. and Oxford Properties Group recently secured a $1.6 billion loan for a new skyscraper at 70 Hudson Yards, which will house Deloitte’s US headquarters

Now that an anchor tenant and funding are all but officially confirmed, I can finally feel myself start to get excited for this one. It'll add a bit of much needed 'bulk' above the current ~1400ft Midtown canopy. If built, this will be a truly massive tower.

It seems like just yesterday when I'd only see a few levels of steel on the walk up to GCT. Here's a photo I took back in late 2017 when One Vandy was just kicking off.

Crazy to think that it won't be long before GCT's eastern flank will look just like this... Then all of a sudden, an even bigger monster begins to rise.

Time really flies.

Keep in mind that they have been stating that this will be an extended stay hotel, which the city classifies as residential. Don't know if those plans have changed, but that's the last word on it.

Nearly 50 years later, in the coming months, we could be again be looking at news of a rebirth on this site, thanks to financing.

One vote was for approval with conditions but all others were for direct approval
