Yes, the Census Bureau does revise their estimates annually. As an example, last year they estimated COA's population on July 1, 2023 to be 979,882. This year - for some reason - they revised that 2023 estimate up by almost 9700 people to 989,583 with this year's estimate release. So, instead of growing by 13,706 - they now estimate Austin grew by only 4,005 from July 1, 2023 to July 1, 2024.

I would like to know the exact location. I like the density for certain locations; Great Starter Homes, (if not allowed to be bought by VC and Corps) for rentals.

Architecturally, reminds me more of LA than Austin. Where is the stone, brick, wood or other materials on the street side? Stucco? Really? Do not Trash Our Austin with Cheap Throw-Away-Stucco Only Architecture!

Six rental units, not owner-occupied homes. Would like to see more of these, but ownership models are better.

My mistake. How the low end "Buy" market; Affordable Housing is really a Myth in present day USA. Free Markets trickle up without strong ......public participation.

Don't worry, you will see this all across the city moving forward. Austin neighborhoods will be unrecognizable fifty years from now. Most of us may not be around anymore, because change of this magnitude takes time, but this is the future. It is feasible that Austin in it's existing boundaries could contain twice as much housing as it currently has EASILY. Truly transformational!

Take this report with an unbelievably large grain of salt. The city's demographic department has, for decades, been far too conservative in their estimates.

Both Austin and San Antonio's metro areas will surpass 5 million quite a few years before 2060. Also, the 400,000 difference in their COA estimate for 2060 is silly. That's a huge gap.

The overtaking comes even though Fort Worth had a percent change of 11.1% between 2020 to 2025, while Austin only had a percent change of 9.6% for those years. Still, it was an increase from Austin’s 2020 to 2024 percent change of 7.4%.

Are the numbers stated as previous estimates actually revisions of previous estimates in which in the unrevised / previous vintage Fort Worth had the larger population? I ask… because from what I’m reading, Austin was the bigger of the two in both years…

Wwmiv this is from last May stating Austin’s population was estimated at 993,588 in July 2024, and Fort Worth population was at 1,008,106.
