Rabsky grows planned project at Tribeca’s “sad pit” to 106 units

A Tribeca site pilloried as a “sad pit” after a long-planned development failed to materialize may not have that moniker for much longer.

Simon Dushinsky’s Rabsky Group is seeking to construct a 24-story, 106-unit mixed-use project at the site, an excavated but empty parcel at the corner of Franklin Street and Broadway, according to a proposal filed late last month with the Department of City Planning.

The plan represents an increase from Dushinsky's earlier proposal to develop a 20-story, 89-unit project at the site, a boost linked to zoning reforms put in place by the City of Yes initiative.
