An innovative Windsor developer is proposing a unique modern concept for housing which harkens back to something old and iconically Windsor. Marko Agbaba of Agbaba Holdings is proposing a Tudor-style row of townhouses on Devonshire Court, just north of Ottawa St. bordering the east side of Kildare Rd., currently a vacant lot. Known as Devonshire Row, there would be eight attached townhomes incorporating two additional dwelling units for a total of 24 units. City planners say this is "compatible with surrounding uses, represents an appropriate increase in density, contributes to modern housing supply, and supports a complementary form of housing near transportation (and)community services." The concept incorporates stone, brick and or half-timbered facades, definitely unique for contemporary city housing. And it's in the Walkerville district, home to many attached town home styles that line, for example, Monmouth Rd., that were part of the Hiram Walker's "model town" created in the late 19th century.
