What is the reason AC450 was on a 77L?

The flight before was cancelled (A321) so it may have been consolidation of the two flights. Although today AC442-447 are cancelled and no upgauges thus far.

Looks like an extra CCC segment after Thursday's flight was cancelled.

I also see that AF has loaded in some 77Ws for June, even though service is daily (except for a single day of no-ops June 6): June 3, 7, 11, 12, 14, 17, 25, 27.

All other days are still the 772. Doesn't seem to be a consistent schedule for the 77W, so perhaps they just watch forward bookings on certain routes and allocate the equipment accordingly. I don't see any loaded in July yet, but I also didn't see them for June initially so they may update it one month at a time.

Yesterday also saw a makeup YOW-SNU on WS from Friday's cancellation. Even though Sunwing the airline is dead, their multi-day delays live on.

Noticed that UA is set to launch a fourth daily YOW-IAD on March 29. I believe they were planning this last summer but it never came to fruition.

Also noticed that PD has pushed back the start of MIA by one week to Jan 24 from Jan 17. While CUN and PVR both see some increases this week, and there's still some frequencies to come on LIR/PVR/GCM, there are some other cuts as YYT reduces to 4x weekly, the E2 YHZ turn is cut until mid-February, EWR is down to 1x flight daily until mid-February, YYC down to 5x weekly, and there's probably others I'm missing too.

Looks like the government will allow more flights from Emirates and Saudi Airlines, any hope of getting an Ottawa flight?

Not a chance. If it were to happen, it might actually work and be profitable due to lack of competition and little amounts of direct options. Alas the airline industry does not think like that, they will choose more flights to saturated markets like YYZ, YUL, and YVR where all the airlines go over underserved markets.

PD and AF took a chance, now look where they are today. Speaking of which, anecdotal discussions with someone who works for Porter (not high up or in the networking team) indicate YOW-LIR is doing very well. Better than they thought. Possible extension to year round hopefully? This is what happens when you take chances in underserved airports.

According to this: https://airserviceone.com/air-canada-has...to-yyzs-seats-11-routes-have-been-added/ - first half YOW-YYZ capacity on AC is flat:

YOW-YTO capacity on AC overall is up thanks to the two additional daily YOW-YTZ departures, which start soon.

I see PD had 8 YOW-YTZ departures today. Looks like a one-off though as days 145 are usually 7x, days 23 are 6x, day 7 is 5x and day 6 currently is only 3x.

The fact that will be daily at peak is truly impressive - I think it was originally announced at 2x weekly? Would be great to see it extended year-round. As of now it's still set to end on April 11 - going abruptly from 5x weekly to nothing. It seems a bit strange that LIR and PVR (which ends at 4x weekly on April 12) actually end before NAS (April 25) and GCM (April 24), where the latter two are 1x weekly.

PD did actually extend YYZ-LIR to be 2x weekly in the summer (around the same time they extended YOW-CUN to year round as well), so YOW 2x weekly on different days would be nice. Say Monday/Friday to complement the Tuesday/Saturday YOW-CUN service.

Speaking of PD, I wonder how soon we'll get new announcements for this summer. Porter announced YOW-YYJ at the end of January last year for a mid-May start. YOW-YLW is the only one that seems like a sure thing to me. I had also seen rumours pre-Christmas that they would announce YVR-YYC/YEG, plus with YHU presumably coming online, I wonder if YOW will only have modest gains this summer.

I guess it's not surprising, but that means there's over one million seats on the YOW/YYZ pair from AC alone each year. Probably represents ~20% of YOW's pax count alone. Kind of staggering to see it presented that way.

Just think of what it was in 2019. Between AC & WS, it was over 2 million/year, with AC having 2/3 of that - and that didn't even count PD's 12-16/day on weekdays (depending on the time of year) to YTZ. That was another 1/2 million seats/year.

So now when we see that 2025 will end a good 320,000 domestic pax short of the 4 million in 2018 & 2019, you can really see how it's probably almost entirely YOW-YTO and YOW-YXU (that's no doubt plummeted from 50k/year in 2019) O&D traffic. In fact the net domestic almost everywhere else is probably 105% of 2019 by now...especially an O&D pair like YOW-YYJ that had no nonstop service back in 2019.

Definitely a good thing for YOW that when we crack 5 million again we'll be doing so with a broader set of destinations.

AC458/463 have been upgauged to a 788. Looks like 4/11 flights cancelled today.

We're looking forward to flying direct to LIR in April!

Yeah. Not knowing how long the PD flight to LIR would last, my wife took the kids down to Costa Rica for Christmas Break. However, they had to transfer to a small SANSA plane between LIR and San Jose (SJO). Maybe PD could add a flight directly to SJO.

LOL, i just noticed that the table I posted yesterday contains an error. It lists LHR twice. LGA must be the true #8.

Today's departure count: 80

Sun flights count (both transborder & international): 13

Today's cancellation count (so far): 0

Today's the last day for daily holiday AF service. Daily service is currently scheduled to resume on 31MAY26 (except 06JUN26). Until daily, ops are X136 from 07JAN26 to 13APR26 (except day 1 ops on 09, 16, 23 FEB & 02MAR), then ops X36 from 14APR26 to 30MAY26.

In addition to the 77Ws noted in the past couple of weeks for January and June, I now also see additional 77W upgauges, including on:
- February 13;
- March 02, 20, 22, 29;
- April 10, 16 & 27; and
- May 01, 04, 08, 10, 11, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 22, 24, 25, 27, 29 & 31. So May is now majority 77W.

The days this summer that see the 77W, 333 on LHR and 789 on YVR are going to be good days for spotting.

Both LHR flights are full in economy today. AC889 is 16/20 J and 20/21 PY. AC888 is 13/20 J and 17/21 PY.
