I believe this is the only high rise of 15 storeys or more in suburban Saint John, NB.

It's really too bad this remains the tallest residential building in the scenic Kennebecasis Valley region of Greater Saint John.

Here's Brentwood Towers from further away. Looks quite tiny on the surrounding landscape.

Stunning views of the New Brunswick Highlands and Kennebecasis River, part of the Appalachian Uplands.

The view from 20 or 30 storeys up at location with prominent elevation in this area would sell themselves. I think the KV area of Saint John may have the most untapped potential for suburban high rise development in Atlantic Canada.

Thanks to the Bangladeshi Lifestyle in Canada Youtube Channel for the source of stills pictured above. Google image didn't have anything as good as these.

Here's another aerial view of the area. Not many people have these views unless they live right near the water front, or at a very prominent location. Building taller high rises could unlock these type of views for a lot more people.

Unfortunately, there remains a lot of resistance to high rise developments in Millidgeville and the broader KV region. Just recently, the Saint John city council shot down a 6 storey proposal nearby Brentwood Towers, over height issues... which imo, was absolutely ridiculous

Snapped a couple photos from the passenger side going down the 407. Vaughan has a skyline now.

I mean it has somewhat of a skyline around Promenades Mall, but this one is more substantial at least in terms of height.

Vancouver and Toronto are much like the Asian giants of Tokyo, Seoul, and Shanghai, in terms of being multi-nodal.

Believe it or not, that view is one that will change pretty dramatically over the next 5-10 years.

There's this development under construction, which will be at the northern (foreground) edge of the existing high density cluster in the heart of Forest Hill village, but there are also 3 developments under construction around St. Clair and Bathurst, and then another half a dozen proposed.

They're finally taking advantage of the Spadina leg of the Yonge-University-Spadina subway. The next area to watch for development will be up and down Marlee Avenue between Eglinton and Lawrence, and then the giant Downsview lands development.

^Thanks. I wasn't aware of any of that, save the Marlee ones. That makes sense, as the surrounding area is low-density, largely run-down ("The Jungle"), and near the subway, the Allen, and Yorkdale.

Edit: Ignore last sentence. I confused Marlee with Ranee.

Proposals are proposals. What driving force is there for this neighbourhood to rapidly grow its skyline in the next 5 to 10 when the next 5 to 10 years are looking quite down? I see it competing with Vaughan Metropolitan Centre. A reversal in Toronto's large scale housing market will continue with international student families than tradition immigration and that's advantage to VMC mega blocks.

Fantastic shot. Burquitlam has grown up so much since I lived in Vancouver (90s). You can barely make out the original "highrises" of this cluster.

It has indeed. I remember that dreadful Safeway store on Clarke Road @ Como Lake Ave.

Rendering of Brigil's Petrie's Landing in Ottawa suburb of Orleans, near Trim Station. First four towers from the left are completed.
