Doesn't look like they are recording temperature history at the Tillsonburg station, just precipitation. Closest I could find was Delhi down highway 3.

Up to 4C today. Rain stopped and although it was mainly cloudy, we did get some sunshine for maybe 15-20 min. Switch over to rain happened at 8AM. Judging from the power outages today (very few), didn't seem as bad as it was predicted.

Low of -7C (wind chill of -16) last night. The freezing started at around midnight.

The warmspot was Sarnia, ON at 13.1C. That temperature was achieved at midnight.

Warmest low was Cumshewa Island, BC at 9.2C.

Incredible, it's like seeing the religious processions of Southern Italian villages and in some popular neighborhoods of Palermo transplanted into the harsh climate of St. John's

Currently 0C and overcast in Moncton at 10 AM. The ice storm has passed. It got up to about +5C overnight, but, the cold front is now passing through. Roads are still a bit icy.

A chilly -13C in Moncton at 9 AM and sunny.

There will be snow on New Years' Day, and, for a change, Moncton will be in the crosshairs. Probably 15-30 cm on the way. At present, there is only inconsistent snow cover on the ground, with the grass mostly visible outside my office window at the hospital.

It's wonderfully sunny and -2 at the moment. TWN is forecasting a high of +3 and rain for us on new year's day. Hopefully they're accurate and we'll maintain our snow-free status through to Jan 6 when we transition to a more normal period of zero or above daytime highs throughout the remainder of the forecast period.

Things all set for the New Years Eve Family Fun Fest at the Avenir Centre:

Hockey game in the arena at 4 PM (Wildcats vs. Charlottetown Islanders), an 8,800 seat sellout.

Fireworks after the game at 7 PM, and again at midnight.

Outdoor skating on the Ian Fowler Oval on the Avenir Centre plaza.

Free outdoor concert.

Food vendors, hot chocolate, etc.

Who cares if the temperature is about -10C. Tancredi would be in his element.

Absolutely, MonctonRad! Here in Palermo, I have to settle for a New Year's Eve with just a bit of rain and a temperature of 12°C. But thinking about it, it could have been worse. Happy New Year to you and the whole forum! I hope that all the cold, ice, and snow currently gripping the beautiful lands of Canada will leave you soon, only to come and embrace, kiss, and caress my warm Sicily

New Years Eve was foggy in Vancouver, but with some sun too, and a high of around 7°C.

Here are my last views of 2025, all from today. Happy New Year!

Cottage country been getting blasted by winter for over a month now. Barrie just cancelled their New Year's event. They are in a snow belt, but this is the most snow they've had in December in a long time.

Kids were sick so we had to miss Christmas at the inlaws up north. Supposed to go yesterday but surprise, surprise, more snow. Then was going to leave this morning but looking at the traffic cams, up there it's hit or miss as to which sections of road are plowed. And then it's going to start snowing again later today and tomorrow.

Apparently, people in the north end of Barrie in the dense subdivisions with the small yards are at their wit's end on what to do with the snow. Some commercial properties and condos have contracts or occasionally hire for snow removal. This might become a thing now for residential in all those postage stamp yard properties. Could be a lucrative business to get into.

At home we got like 5 cms yesterday. One of the easiest shovel jobs I've ever had. It was so light and fluffy. Few more days of sub zero but next week looking good. Hope the plus temps hold to get rid of this snow cover.
