No, convention versus exhibition space. In general, way cheaper, fewer amenities, less variety of breakout and support spaces. Most cities have a 'convention' centre and an 'exhibition' centre targeting different markets. Calgary has a hybrid centre plus their traditional downtown convention centre.
Here is the attendance amount of Stadium Events:
BC Lions x9 227,220
Grey Cup 52,349
Vancouver Whitecaps x19 427,153
Rugby 7s x3 67,753
FIM Supercross Championship estimate of 17,000
Taylor Swift x3 160,000
The Rolling Stones 50,000
Diljit Dosanjh 54,000
Coast City Country x3 forecast 75,000
'Stadium' use
41 days total; 1,130,475 attendees. (BC Place says 1,194,000 attendees, so two events might be missed from my list, or they're also counting a bunch of 5,000 people going to the boat show, home and garden, towards that number).
