ANC - season begin with 4x weekly, increase to daily 7M8 by mid May
AUS - reduce to 4x weekly 223
ORD - 1x daily 223
DEN - 2x daily 223
HNL - reduce to 1x daily 7M8, 1x weekly 789 will only operate in May
IAH - 1x daily mix of 223/321
LAX - reduce to 4x daily 7M8/223
BNA - reduce to 3-4x weekly 223
EWR - 1x daily 789 instead of 2x 7M8
SNA - 1x daily 223
PHX - 2x daily CR9
YQB - season start May instead of June, increase to 5x weekly 7M8 from June
RDU - 3x weekly 223, season start May instead of June
YQR - reduce to 2x daily 223/CR9, increase to 3x daily by late June
PDX - reduce to 3x daily DH4
PVR - increase to 2x weekly 7M8
SMF - 2x daily CR9
SAN - 3x daily CR9
SFO - reduce to 4x daily 223/7M8/CR9
YXE - reduce to 2x daily 223, then increase to 3x daily 223 by late June
SEA - reduce to 4x daily DH4
YXY - reduce to 1x daily 7M8
YZF - reduce to 6x weekly CR9, increase back to 2x daily by late June

List of 223 destinations next summer: YYZ, YUL, YYC, YEG, YQR, YXE, AUS, ORD, DEN, IAH, LAX, BNA, SNA, RDU, SFO

For the sub-daily flights:
BNA/AUS shares a daily 223
YQB/PVR shares a daily 7M8
MIA/CUN shares a daily 7M8 with Tuesday spare
RDU/IAH shares a daily 223, when the plane flies to RDU, IAH will operates with 321
Very glad to see the 223 here finally, it's the perfect bird for YVRs domestic and transborder ops, but oof those are some big cuts across the board.

Not terribly surprising given the Canada POS demand drop, but still hurts to see.

Hopefully the US carriers can keep up service to lessen the PAX blow.

The carriers adjust to meet demand, not the other way around. And US demand is way down. Don't expect it to change anytime soon.

Yes, but US and Canadian airlines have different demand. The drop in overall demand is mostly from Canadian travellers.

For most of the route, the Rouged 7M8 will be operating along side with non-Rouged 7M8, even on the same day

Summer schedule not yet updated, but looking at my previous post, looks like the two MAX rotation (MIA/CUN/PVR/YQB) will be Rouged, as well as anything that specifically mentioned as 7M8 from the post.
Ouch. Edmonton getting rouged like that. A city with a reputation of being cheap getting cheap service?

By end of April, there's 2x daily 223, 2x daily Express, and 3x daily Rouge 7M8... so there is still choices.

Domestic schedule on/after May is still not updated, but likely there will be a mix of those 3.

Similarly for LAX and SFO, it'll be a mix of the 3 services. Other routes won't have a choice though.

And no difference in ticket price, perhaps Rouge is only a temporary measure until more 7M8 are transferred and more A220 received.

Not sure why A220s are getting so much love. I've flown both business and steerage in them and those planes feel like a route downgrade. Airlines are diving DEEP into the 220 pool though, so I guess I'm not the target customer?

It’s hard to imagine you can downgrade from a 7M8.

Wider seats, larger windows, fewer middle seats, lower cabin noise; what’s not to love over a 737?

I love planes with no middle seats… (one reason I really like flying Porter)

Airlines don't order multi-million dollar aircraft based on passenger "feelings".

Also, passenger feedback for the Bombardier CSeries is overwhelmingly positive. So yes, you and your feelings are in the minority.

Well yes of course, transborder numbers are down, but not all demand is the same.

Canadian demand has fallen off a cliff, but US demand to Canada is actually up a decent amount. Demand tends to fall to the carriers of the nations driving that demand, so hence why I hope that the American carriers ramp up seats, which would show a further increase in US demand to YVR.

Next year is supposed to be a bigger cruise ship year. Couple that with the world cup and it's not unreasonable to expect US carriers to ramp up service.

Such an awesome flight on AC from ICN and a smooth arrival experience at YVR this morning. 3 flights from ICN today.

Had the best views of Vancouver Island and the whole Lower Mainland approaching from the west.

What a great way to come home!

As a passenger I am much happier on an A220 over a 737. No middle seat. No shortage of overhead bin space.

The E95 is not as nice as A220 but still better than a WS737. AC is a bit more consistent with their 737.

Zipair seems to be opening bookings earlier than in the past. Already extending into Oct 2026 now

https://www.aeroroutes.com/eng/251219-zgns26na

ZIPAIR Tokyo this week extended bookings for Honolulu and Vancouver service for September and October 2026. Planned operations as follows.

Tokyo Narita – Vancouver 02SEP26 – 24OCT26 4 weekly 787-8 service maintained

+++++

Some Qantas changes now extending into early 2027:

https://www.aeroroutes.com/eng/251219-qfnw26yvr

Qantas this week gradually extends schedule listing into the first quarter of 2027, instead of previously listed until 13DEC26. On Sydney – Vancouver route, the airline now schedules 4 weekly flights instead of 3, although peak season in January 2027, between 01JAN27 and 25JAN27, shows 6 weekly, compared to 1 daily in January 2026.

Boeing 787-9 operates this route.

QF075 SYD2030 – 1525YVR 789 x7
QF076 YVR2020 – 0635+2SYD 789 x7

+++++

And Air India has begun flying via Vienna again instead of Kolkata on the daily YVR-DEL route. The return from DEL remains nonstop.

Still going to have more changes. The 7M8 are gradually move to Rouge starting March, so I expected the 4 daily to YYZ will be replaced by something else.

The YHZ will likely go to Rouge, and you forgot the 5x weekly YQB, which likely to become Rouge as well.

Also, there is still 3x weekly 789 to YOW, so 321 will be 25x weekly.

I'm guessing one of the 321 listed for YUL is the XLR... I'll put it in a separate category since the seating is very different

Not sure if there will be more routes to be announced now that 223 and Rouge base are in full swing. I'm surprised even Rouge wasn't able to save YVR-TPA...

Of course and of course - silly me! Cannot believe I left out YQB altogether!
